    That plumber`s grease is invaluable. I use a Q-tip to apply it to tight spaces. I think it is silicone based.

    always good stuff from steve. I just bought that raven tool because i seen you use it a lot. i'm an apprentice. when you pull a diverter, you spin it counterclockwise then pull straight out? must be reverse threads

    I would like another size up also , to take those Moen shower cartridges right out . The tool they sell for that situation sucks 🏀

    Steve what would cause a drip from the back of the handle? I replaced the seats and cartridge and still drips when it’s all back together.

    Hey Steve! I have that same unit on my shower and I want to replace it completely. Do I need to use the same brand so that the internal guts match up. I have heard this from other plumbers. Looking to move from silver to black. Thanks in advance!

    @Frank Dux Company is based in Braintree, MA. Supposedly 80% of their products are still made in MA. The rest seems to come from Toya Valves & Metal Co in Taiwan.

    @@jblyon2 the have gotten cheaper over past few years.....valve itself is good but more plastic on the other parts....ive replaced countless broken handles and snapped diverter handles...

    Was thinking the exact same thing. It’s facing the wrong direction because the dude managed to remove the handle and forgot which direction it should be facing when it’s off.

    I've allways put nickelgraph anyiseize on the inside of the knob and the screw.. I've taken ones apart that i did 20 years ago and they come right off.. I never understand why guys do work like this and don't use antiseize on the knob and screw I allways do it have a little courtesy for the next guy as it may just be you many years down the line.. a little dab of antiseize can make your life much easier it only takes a few seconds to put it on and can save you alot of time in the future if the customer decides to use you again and the next guy will thank you for it.

    @@stevenlavimoniere I have the one, with a screw that connects to the cartridge. It pulled the center out on the 1225 and left the cylinder in the wall faucet. Would that raven work,to retrieve the cylinder still in the wall ?

    I would not give 50 cents for that Symmons brand of plumbing parts, ever. I would use silicone grease only, where there are O rings and plastic.

    Those Symmons really take a lot of abuse , I don't think I've seen you replace one , they were all repaired.
