Thanks for taking the time to make this YT video. It helped me fix my Symmons shower valve.

Since last year, I've gutted the bathroom and now installing a new valve, new tub and tiling. I'm a total beginner with this. I'm asking lots of questions from pro friends, and watching others on KZread. Wish me luck.

This took me 20 minutes after discovering that the previous owner kept the fascia from the original Kohler install. I already had a complete Symmons set for a future build, so I just stole the parts I needed! Thanks, so much. I wasted a day, but was still a hero to the Missus!

Good info, I would like to add that if your having problems removing the metal washer you can carefully cut the side and the washer will pop right off. Makes things a little easier

well done. two suggestions for future videos: use a pointer rather than a finger so I accurately understand the part you are referring to and turn your wrenches over so the bigger half is pulling instead of pushing. it’s a tad stronger and less likely to slip

You can get free replacement parts from Symmons, since their product is lifetime warranty for residential .

Did the washer swaps resolve the leaky tub spout problem? If yes, why did you feel the need to change the valves, seats..., ? Out of caution, or were there other issues. A newbie myself. Still discovering Symmons Temptrol. Have a leaky spout and want to fix it once she for good as my Temptrol is likely very old. Rather swap as many parts one time. Advice appreciated.

@@mrphysh ended up getting it off, just had to really torque it.

Your using your channel locks backward when trying to remove the ring.
