hi my friend ! reading this recipe I'd like to tell you how idiot-like I acted in the past doin a filled/stuffed onion. This 53 y.o. man really acted like a new born child being in the kitchen the first time ever ! Had a fist sized onion and did not know how to get the inner parts out to only keep the 2 or 3 outer layers for a filling. I really cut off top and bottom to take out the rest easier. Then I realized there's no more bottom left to keep the filling INSIDE the onion ! F*** ! I didn't think of that melon ball cutter (though I had one !), tried to do all with a midget sized knife. I tried to put in some taken out layers as a 'border' to keep the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, feta and olives mix in, cover all with Gruyére - but I failed. 'Damn ! Are Germans really that dump ?' I thought. But now YOU showed me the right way and I thank U 4 that ! ! ! now all you folks reading this can enjoy your laughter and lean back having a Jack Daniel's on the freakin' rocks :-)

Andy, I must say that you really made me laugh and smile thinking of your battle with that onion!!! People ask me often for me to pin their comment just "because" I only pin comment that worthy of a good cooking tip or just for the entertainment. You are my latest PIN! Bravo and thank you for sharing your experience and for your always great comments! 😍

I know, I've been there! My grandma made onions in cheese sauce for our Christmas Eve dinner with her, they were sooo good! I'm going to try this, but with a cheese sauce instead of Bolognese, tomatoes don't agree with me, but his instructions are great, eh?

A friend of mine is from Argentina. He speaks English but has a very pronounced accent. Whenever people ask where he is from he answers "Kentucky".
8 years later. He still says oño. Some things should not be corrected.
Chef Jean Pierre is a treasure and he must be protected! Gotta love his passion!
Man I just love this channel. I have cooked everything and consider a very good home cook. But this Chef is awesome. He just doesn't tell you how to cook something, he explains and give hints along the way. What a great teacher. I love watching him, always learning something new, even after 65 years. He is amazing. Wish I had watched him at 23, instead of finding him at 65.

Chef Jean there are onions grown here in North Carolina on the east coast that are even sweeter but because of the higher sugar content they have a very short season. Thank you for sharing your years of experience.
Onion bowls. French onion bowls. Nom nom.
I used to make that dish back in the 90s at a very good restaurant in Athens Greece. It was a best seller. Only difference we used to serve it with a caramelised onions puree
