His direction, casting, production, etc are fine. It’s the desensitized and excessive innuendo that takes me out of everything he’s done (haven’t seen Sliver). Superman is bound to have a steel penis “joke” at some point and, for me, it will land with as much of a cringe as Jar Jar’s entrance in TPM. It’s one thing to exhaust Marvel’s model of breaking tension with humor. Sometimes it even works. But the gruff and tasteless innuendo never lands well for me.

This guy is underrated as heck. Good choice by Gunn and Co.

I wouldn't be surprised if DC Studios/WB drop a Superman trailer for Super-Bowl 2025. It would only make sense

I would have seen that Supergirl movie anyway, but if the director of Cruella is at the helm of it, I'm looking forward to it all the more.

I’ve seen ‘Cruella’ and I thought that was really good. I’ll have to check in on his other work.

Im going to watch this one..she was amazing in House of the dragon..and James Gunn has alot riding on this universe. He knows how to cast

Cruella was surprisingly a very enjoyable movie for me and so I like this choice

James Gunn have never let me down. My favorite Gunn film is a cheat because he didn't direct it, only wrote it, but's The Belko Experiment! More folks got to check out The Belko Experiment, it's such a fun flick

Sometimes John let's his perception of things lead him to say stuff that's just downright not true. The TV ratings for Supergirl were very good, it's highest season had a average viewership of 9.8M viewers per episode and it's lowest ratings per episode season was 1.2M. The character is very popular.

The real question is: Will Krypto The Superdog be in It?

I love the Helen slater 1984 movie ❤

We will get a taste of her in Superman movie. That people will want to know her story

I can't wait to see Supergirl in the new Superman movie next year and the solo Supergirl movie as well

Peacemaker was really good but it was not the most successful thing WB/DC has ever put on Television. It's not more successful than Adam West Batman, Smallville, BTAS, JL, Arrow, or the Flash. Let's calm down a little.

“Im not one for derivative characters”, while simultaneously D-riding the elseworld no-name Silver Surfer character into a pulp, calling everyone that dislikes the creative decision a mysoginist, and alienating 75% of his own fanbase😂. Not a good PR day John, even if you think you’re virtue signalling the right way. - Long time fan

It’s true the director is always a pivotal thing for a movie’s success but the real question is that even if they manage to land this director will he be able to pull this of because is a sci fi plus superhero type of movie, a genre his not familiar with. Can he do it? That’s the question.🤔

We really don’t but James Gunn is all about creating a good story that ties into the universe. The Supergirl movie brings inspiration from “Woman of Tomorrow”. My guess is that Supergirl is introduced briefly in “Superman” but leaves because she wants to get away for her 21 birthday to go have fun, which leads into “Supergirl”. I also think that “Supergirl” leads into “Lanterns”. I could be 100% wrong lol
