It is not a matter of if he is leaving us soon but when, the interviews that he gave last year, he seemed to be at peace with knowing that he will not beat this cancer, he just wants to try and live as normally as he possibly can until that day comes

@@MorganNye Nobody survives and beats stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Do your research on this cancer 90% of most men that get this die within the first year that it is discovered especially when it it at the most advanced stage. There is a real possibility that he might have hosted his last ever episode of Jeopardy, because this kind of cancer can take a turn for the worst on the drop of a dime

Man I just love this guy. Talk about class in the midst of physical and certainly emotional distress! Hang in there Alex. Beat this thing!

@@lawoftheuniverse8089 I understand. I particularly enjoyed my Canadian neighbors when I lived in Vermont, and when I could not cross the border, I greatly enjoyed Peter Gzowski's programs.

He's actually looking quite well. Pancreatic cancer usually leaves people looking very gaunt and ill. Remember how Patrick Swayze looked. It's good to see him looking healthy, I hope he's feeling that way too. Here's hoping he is able to beat the beast.

eva garden, no he has Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Survival rates are very low. My sister-in-law was just diagnosed in March with the same thing.

It's so sad, I was hoping Alex would beat the cancer because of the fact that he signed a new contract with Jeopardy and was going to continue to make new episodes for two more years before he called it quits. Unfortunately it'll never happen RIP Mr. Trebek.

"We're going to open the Jeopardy vaults and take another look at some of our favorite episodes, including the very first Jeopardy show I ever hosted." Looking forward to seeing the 1983 pilot finally surface in an official capacity. Same format, but audiovisually *very* different from anything afterward. [EDITED 7/21/20: Turns out it was the 1984 series premiere, which is *not* Alex's "very first Jeopardy show" but whatever.]

When I was growing up in Vancouver some 30 years ago, Jeopardy was a regular ritual for our family where I'd test my reading knowledge and get a quarter from my dad for every question I got right. I owe my lifelong love of knowledge and language to the show. We love you Alex!

Kevin Wang I’m in Toronto, and every weeknight at 7:30PM, I’m always front and centre at the TV watching Jeopardy on CTV, then it was CBC, then CHCH, now Yes TV.

I don't understand My dear friend died in 3 months with same illness Stage 4 pancreatic cancer Alex looks better than he did in December. Your a miracle. Keep going as we know you will.

Class, class, class. It’s easy for people to poke fun, and I think he has always taken it in stride. He represents, I think, a media star from the golden era of TV. Jeopardy is a thinking persons game and his demeanor has always lent authenticity to the show. Classic game show hosts, and even current hosts, play to the audience. Alex respects the audience. I send him and his family continued thoughts of positivity and gratitude.

It wasn't COVID, he died of stage 4 pancreatic cancer

I'm sure we'll have new episodes eventually, but I think we can all wait until it is absolutely safe for Alex to return to the studio.

one of the Classiest humans that ever lived and graced our TV every year since the 80's. In a way Alex Trebek raised and babysat several generation of kids (I was one of those 90's kids). Thank You Alex we all will miss you dearly and thank you for what you had done (specially all your charity work that you quietly did on the side). Edit: Alex is right up there with Uncle Phil, both these men raised me and us.

i don't know how Alex does it. He has the strength of 10,000 men. Hoping and praying for a full recovery!
