Aurora is certainly not the radio mainstream artist. But over time she got a very solid global fan base. Some numbers speak for themselves, 2.25 million subscribers on yt and close to 475 million views on yt. Or when I started to follow her, she had around 40 k followers on insta, now there are more than 1 million followers.. So this insanely talented, one of a kind young woman gets increasingly noticed. There is so much to discover of her, obviously music, with many live performances, interviews and documentaries, music videos and not to forget a whole lot of amazing covers. And if you get the chance, go and see her live. I had this privilege and it was a great experience. Don't know where in Sweden you live, but Aurora will perform at the Olavsfest in Trondhem on July 30 (venu being just outside the famous Nidarosdomen, largest cathedral in the northern hemisphere). I do have a ticket but it remains to be seen if first the event will take place and second if I can travel from my country.

We also want to hear more. The concert here is great. She is also very funny between songs. I hope you show that too. It's amazing how happy I am when someone new has discovered this talent for themselves. You don't hear anything from her on the radio. Apparently it's not mainstream enough for that and the lyrics can't be too demanding either. Unfortunately, Aurora is one of the many talents who have to fight hard to become known. She writes, produces herself and doesn’t let her label talk her into her songs. Everything that the so-called talents get thrown after them from some shows that have not yet achieved anything in their life, others have to fight for years and still remain unknown. So much good music is withheld from us by the TV and radio stations. You have to think about the bullshit. Here in Germany Runaway will first have to be played on the radio because the song managed to become known via tiktok during the pandemic. He is now number 15 in the charts after almost 6 years. And we even live on the same continent. Incredible. Before Corona I never heard of Aurora, even though she had concerts here. Real talent is so poorly promoted.

I should have written that I have dealt intensively with Aurora over the past few months and that I know her history. Made music and first texts in Norwegian at the age of 6. Then at 9 in English. She became known through a song she wrote herself and performed at school. This performance was secretly recorded and posted on the Internet. A record company noticed her and made her an offer which she refused because she didn't want to become famous and wrote her music only for herself. Her mother then agreed to say that it would be selfish not to share this talent with others so that more people can feel what her mother is feeling when she hears them. Her parents didn't discover her talent until she was 14. She had kept everything a secret until then. Then she got her first record deal and performed at festivals. She hated it. Only after the first 100 appearances did she learn to deal with it better. She is very introverted and struggles with many people at once. She has always preferred to be alone. Over time, however, everything has changed for the better. She has evolved. Now she loves these gigs and gets along much better with people. She has a special relationship with her fans, whom she affectionately calls worriors and wierdos. The rest is as it is. That was my history lesson for those who didn't know. .

@@hakanandersson1276 Aurora is not an unstable person. She had already consolidated her character since she hadn't even been on tour for the first time. She knows what she wants and can no longer be talked into or intruded into. You don't need to worry about her. She is highly intelligent and has her strong convictions. She overwhelmed herself on her first tours and became depressed. She also learned from that. She once said something like ... I have put up my flag and everyone who wants to come to me is cordially invited. That distinguishes her from many other artists who sell themselves and fulfill every wish of the labels and fans. She doesn't do that. She says take me as I am or leave me. So nobody needs to worry about her. And should she ever waver, then she has family and friends who know how to prevent such things. But it won't happen.

@@hakanandersson1276 I laugh for a moment because of your "concern" for me. You can get that for yourself. I don't need 6 years to find out a little bit. In principle, 10 to 20 interviews including her podcasts are sufficient. Her life is not a history lesson about WWII and how it came about. There isn't much to it. You just have to be able to remember a little something. Her résumé is a page long, if you want to summarize it. I deal with music and the artists I like more closely. That you want to put me here as if I was a little sick in the head says more about you than about me. 😁 You also seem to have forgotten that the information you have received in bites over 6 years is already bundled and available to me. It is not a sleight of hand to read a little. It doesn't take much time. As a result of the pandemic, like many others, I had enough of it. So you'd better come back to your own door with your concern. Be grateful for the information you get or not. Then don't comment that shit. What little you've read of me here and there, how long will it take you to read that? 6 years? 😉

Very cool. You were the first person to mention how much Aurora sounds like Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries - something I've felt for a long time. Even her accent when she sings sometimes sounds Irish. Btw, the first song that really made me realize her talent was the NPR Tiny Desk Concert of Aurora, especially the last song "Running With The Wolves". It's pretty incredible to hear her voice stripped down.

If you haven't caught them yet, I'd highly recommend reacting to Aurora's performances as a teen at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert (she was 19) - esp Murder Song and Runaway (she wrote Runaway at age 11). When I think pure musical artist, I think of Aurora and Kanami from Band-Maid.

She reminds me of when I was a Belly Dancer with her arm and body movements. The woman you played is amazing. Her voice is definitely reminiscent of Aurora. I wonder what it would be like with them singing together doing harmony. Maybe it would activate an out of body experience! LOL. Chills in flight. Ha. Hey, that might be a cool name for a band! Ha. Hi Danny, nice of you to listen to Norwegian musicians. In fact, it is rare that Swedes do. You miss so much good music that is created on this side of the "keel". In my opinion, Norwegian music has soul, and especially more of the new Norwegian female artists. You probably know Ane Brun who lives a lot in Sweden, but in addition to Angelina Jordan and Aurora, you should listen to Susanne Sundfør "When the lord", Emilie Nicolas and Sigrid. Then you have a good start.

@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 Do you prefer production geared to pop charts or stripped down versions? “Tears of Gold” has 3 versions official video is pop, stripped version is pretty informal, stripped live concert is just voice and piano but was a streamed Covid concert. To avoid comparisons with Daneliya Tuleshova, I’d suggest a different song. “You don’t even know me” has 3 version as well. Pop, stripped and stripped concert. Personally, I like “Bad Dreams” with Faouzia at the piano. Shows off her singing, playing and songwriting skills best. The thumbnail is her at the piano in black in a dark room.
