All I can say is I'm impressed. Been following for a while and it seems there isn't anything you guys can't handle. Carter rocked tackling that ram.

I knew that you're each strong but dang! Watching you push a 500lb steal beam was amazing.

We recently put two steal I beams up for a 30x20 kitchen extension. We mounted an electric winch on the existing roof, and lifted the beams on the center of gravity, and worked very smoothly. Just two people on each end to keep it from swinging too much.

Quick tip from a woodworker: When routing out the window, always go clockwise. That way, the rotation of the bit pushes the router to the 2x4 your are using as a guide. If you go counter clockwise (on internal cuts), the rotation will pull away from the beam, making the router difficult to control. Hope that helps 🙂

@keithneal3253 The pond house was put on hold. They had the Cafe, the Chapter House, the plans and eventual construction of the add-on. Plus all of the other projects around the property like the barn, the fence, the lower pasture, etc. They've been busy. I have a feeling that the pond house will pop up soon after the completion of the addition.

Drill holes in the beam to secure before you place. You can also drill holes to secure a 2x4 top plate if needed.

Years ago I worked a fly by night construction crew. We had 7000lbs trusses to put in at a shopping mall by crane, we keep telling the foreman that the crane was to small, we got the first one up and just before we set it down the cable stretched, talk about people running for there life's on top of a two story building. scary times. Beautiful it's coming together.
