Street Running Train Female Engineer, Industrial Railroad Spur Switching, Rest Of The Story!

Ойын-сауық

Female engineer on street running train operating the Franklin Industrial Track! Ohio Train! This is the rest of the story. The Norfolk Southern local freight backs down the spur and then we see the SD40-2 leading down the center of the road in Franklin, Ohio. This video shows film shot by my friend Dr Law that was not included in my original video and shows a scene that I shot that was not included in the original video. Click this link for the original video. • Female Engineer, Stree... The train is seen running long hood forward down the middle of Main Street and returning light after dropping off the covered hopper cars at the only customer that uses the street running track. The track from the street runner section to the end of line is less than a mile and a half. Trains operate on 160.980 but do not operate every day. If you have filmed a female locomotive engineer leave a comment. Filmed August 18, 2020.

We only had a few female “braketts” on the MOP / UP division out of New Orleans. Only one of them stayed for a few years. One only lasted a few months. She refused to line the inside crossover switch that was lined to come out of the yard onto the main line where we were. I refused to more the train until she lined both switches for straight track. Even after I explained the rule and why the rule was there, she still refused to go line it. I called for a Trainmaster and he explained it to her then he got down and lined the switch. She worked back to New Orleans the next day and was nothing but trouble. A few weeks later she got fired while still in her probation period. The others did their jobs well but did not stay very long. We did have one female engineer out of Shreveport, LA that was still working when I retired. One day we both arrived at Alexandria at the same time on opposing trains and both crews rode together to the Sheraton. When she came down for supper that evening none of us recognized her. She had on a nice dress, heels and we found out she had long hair that she kept tucked up under her baseball cap while working. She cleaned up damn good. Word was that she was a very good engineer. This happened before they took the caboose off the trains. One of the signs of a good engineer was their ability to give a smooth ride to the conductor and read brakeman.

@@jackfrank303 I remember about ten years or so ago NS still had a four man crew on the local working the Peavine line out of Cincinnati. Today, of course, CCET only uses 2 on the crew and sometimes a third in a truck to switch tracks and open gates. I miss seeing the cabooses. I lived next to a CSX line and in 1985 or 86 they got rid of the cabooses on that line. I saw one a few days ago on a local in Cincinnati

Top notch precision railroading, from the conductor riding on the inside of a covered hopper, to the female engineer shoving the train back with her seat reversed, I mean is there a rear view mirror 🤷‍♂️. Man I’m super impressed with the 14 cars on a local job with one pos switcher! Keep up the good work!

It's nice to see women in the world of railroad engineers. As always my friend another awesome video! But wait there's more! Those Wisconsin Central Hoppers have seen their share of work I'd say! Franklin, Ohio looks quite charming! Still hoping to one day meet you if you make to Stl. Some great U.P. and B.N.S.F. action! My buddy is an engineer with the B.N.S.F. out of Lindenwood yard in Shrewsbury, Mo. Was with the B.N. before the merger. Has seen a lot in his 33 years. Keep them videos coming ! Thanks again!

Jaw Tooth. It's great you posted this with mention of the woman. I look for the day women's time will be freed up and equalized within the homes so more of them can contribute and do so long term until retirement in all sorts of great professions. However, it's not just family lives causing the shortage of women and short careers, there's other matters in the way which hardly get mentioned. Women need peer respect and cooperation to last out with or without family matters along the way. The treat here was seeing and hearing her in her natural habitat. 😊

Jaw Tooth. Thank you for the fast replies and the heart. I've watch some of your videos over time when they come in the feeds. Just days ago, I started getting more in feeds about women on rails after I opened someone's video, hardly any prior in over a year of using KZread, though pilots and ship officers videos arrived more. And your two videos on women turned up two days apart, I saved one and watched both today. I might have seen another with a woman on rails from you or another rail fan videographer several months ago.. However, I am impressed with your videos and your mention of women when they happen by. And it touches my heart that you say in one of your replies to me a woman knew who was taking the video because she saw you doing it before. I live by two live lines, close enough to recognize a face (if I'd know) someone in it peeking out. Not easy to see them when not peeking out, but I hope to see a woman looking at me some day. I also cross those lines nearby, and so hope to see a woman looking out there. If I find one there, I'll give her a vocal cord mangling loud 'Women Power!' call out, in hopes she'll hear over the diesel. Or it'll be a nice try. Oh, I was an engineer. Not that kind, an airplane engineer. These engineers don't fly but I did move airplanes from the pilot's seats - "taxiing" and from tugs - "towing" alongside all else to maintain them. My career was short-lived due to too much non-cooperation from male peers so to put it. That's got to stop. We'll see more women if more men cooperate from all angles of life. You encourage that with these videos.

The reason I love these videos so much is the amount of care that goes into each one. The videos were always well photographed, but now Jaw Tooth ups the ante by using two cameras. This, of course, adds to our enjoyment and we can only sit back and marvel at what we see unfold. Also, Jaw Tooth has that rare gift of humor without sounding like a simp. He keeps it light and his love of the subject is infectious. I see he’s nearing the 100K mark in subscribers. Let’s hope he makes it soon, because I can’t wait to see how he’ll celebrate making that magic mark. Personally, I’d like to see him hit that pest Danny in the face with a pie.

I nearly rescued a possibility preteen girl from on one, got partially blinded by sunlight trying to locate her and she got down and crossed the coupling. I spoke recently at a public event about that and I hope the leader of that event gets two officials, as she said she'd try, from two companies here to the next event to hear me on that. 😮

I have only seen 2 and I check all the time. There should be a lot more of them but I don't know where they are. NS had a female trainee on the route through my town for a short time and then she disappeared. One time one of the guys invited me into the locomotive and he told me that a couple guys were fighting over her. lol. It was kind of funny to listen to that drama and a little unique although I know my job didn't have very many females either and when we hired a girl all the guys were tripping over each other to help her and get to work with her. I was the one who trained her and we became good friends and her husband got to play on my softball team one time when we had a game and we were short a player. The good ole days

I look at female railroad engineers the same way I looked at female bus drivers. I sold products to a school district that had its own bus fleet. Half of the bus drivers were women. Talking to the mechanics in the shop they related to me that half the women approximately were very good drivers and easy on equipment. They also related that half of the man approximately we’re good bus drivers and easy on equipment. I don’t see any reason why a female properly trained would not be an excellent engineer. The manager of the fleet a female was a better manager than the previous person a male who had been in the job for a decade or more. She was not a know it all and would take good advice on equipment maintenance.
