I was present for the scrapping of CN 7005 and have the number boards on my wall. Nice to see her sister still working.

Yes it is nice that it’s still in service!!
The Spring Hope local back in the SCL days. Used to work the power plant at city lake (now a restaurant on the Tar River) with loads of coal and the Nello Teer rock quarry by Old Mill Road in addition to more industries in Nashville and Spring Hope.. Great catch, thanks for posting it. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic work and video liked and subed
Sweet, I love the sound of Nonturbocharged EMD freight locomotives! I know the GP9M is a former Canadian National engine, is the second a GP28 of Illinois Central heritage? I also noticed the grade crossing doesn't have the trains sounding their horns. Loved the "click clack click clack" sound of the cars going over jointed rail. (Looks like 100 Pound Rail) Very cool, God bless.

Josh, yes it does have a unique sound versus the turbo engine! I like the sound of them when they throttle up! The engines belonged to the Nash County Railroad which was operated by the Gulf and Ohio RR, before being taken over by the CLNA. Im not sure about its history prior to that. Thanks for watching!

I’m sure the RR uses anything they have laying around whenever they scrap a locomotive!
Cool catch!

There is a video by Rail Tennessee that covers it if you want to check it out. It shows the logging operation. Take care James!
I wonder where they pick up those log loads.....

I believe it’s in Momeyer according to a video that someone did of the logging operation.
guess they don't repaint their locomotives anymore.......

I guess they use the money for other things, especially short lines. Some of their locomotives are painted red white and blue to match each other.
