    Happy Thanksgiving Sam & Razel, I hope its yet another one of many to come holiday season for you. YTube didn't ask me to "verify myself" this time, YAY! I just came back from a cruise, and I met a Filipina casino pit boss. I'll keep it short, I was quite attracted to her until she said: "I deserve everything because I endured and overcame everything I didn't deserve." Sounds "American" doesn't it? She's been working on a cruise ship for 10+ years, and I guess she's been "Westernized." What a shame, have to go to the Phil. I guess.

  • @SAMLAMB

    @SAMLAMB

    Yeah, that westernization is poison for a man. Looking for a woman from the 50s and 60s era. I once told a friend how great Filipinas are. So he dated one from his home town and he was so upset with me. He told me his girlfriend whom he broke up with in 3 months was nothing like how I described my Filipina gf. Then I told him my gf was from the province of the Philippines and it’s a big big difference.

    In all honesty, Sam, we thought your sole criteria for dating all the other Filipinas were that they were female and breathing (until you met Razel, of course). You have matured nicely, my friend! Your six criteria are well-stated. I particularly like #6. I think we get better at following that one with age. When we were young (and stupid), we tended to over think things. Our gut may have told us one thing, but our brain (and other parts of our anatomy) was telling us something else. So, we told our gut to "mind its own business" and proceeded to make a mistake of anywhere from minor to mind-blowing proportions. Now, age and experience tells us that maybe that first impression or that gnawing feeling in our gut is probably the actual answer. So, I agree totally on that one. The other thing I will just add on your "trust" point is that using the "eye test" can help. What does the person (female if us guys, male if it is a women looking for a guy) look like - how do they dress, how do they "carry" themselves, both in public and in private? Are they "cocky (arrogant)", openly flaunt themselves, have eyes that "wander" when you two are supposedly talking, etc.? I tend to stay away from those types, just based on my centuries of life experience. Anyway, that's my two-cents. You both (Sam and Razel) are wise beyond your years!

    @@SAMLAMB Three weeks ago, I would have agreed with you. But Georgia has been firing on all cylinders the last two weeks. Tennessee, on the other hand, got crushed by Mezzo last week. UT has been up and down this year. Up against mediocre teams and down against good teams (Florida, Alabama, Missouri). As long as the Dogs play like the last two weeks, I don't see a problem for them. Tennessee has the athletes to compete with them, but not the "whole package". We'll see. It is going to be an interesting end of the season to see who gets in to the playoff.

    More to the point, why oh why is it that so many Americans decend on Dumaguete to live, above anywhere else in the Philippines or Asia in general. The Philippines is made up of 7,000+ Islands, yet there's so many Americans in Dumaguete & the area, that have never ever been anywhere else in the Philippines, only Dumaguete. On the otherhand most Europeans travel much much more around the Philippines. What's the mindset of Americans, that have moved to Dumaguete & never see anything else of the country?

    I’m not so sure that’s the case, Keep. You might be correct and I don’t have any stats. I’ve been here for five yrs and I still frequent other major cities that Americans goes to. I think it’s about the same. What I’ve notice in Dumaguete, we have so many American Vloggers and. We tend to vlogg Americans and it gives the impression that there’s a lot of Americans. RAZEL and I mostly stay to ourselves. But the foreigners that we’ve met have travelled extensively throughout many of the major cities and resort areas. And have decided to call Dumaguete home. That’s just my opinion. And once again I don’t have any stats to back it up. Thank you for the comment Keep. We really enjoyed it.

    @@SAMLAMB Thanks for your reply comment Sam. Over many years lots of Americans have made a B-line for Dumaguete/Valencia, many of which initially settle there, then some move to nearby places but frequent Dumaguete as & when they feel they want. Talk to Americans in the U.S & on mentioning the Philippines, they usually know of Manila, Cebu & Dumaguete. This can only be because it's the names so frequently mentioned. Some Europeans can be heard calling Dumaguete, America. We have to ask ourselves why so. On my extensive travels, I bump into many other nationalities more than Americans. It's just how it is I guess. I was wondering if it's because the majority of Americans don't travel outside of the U.S?

Then we must ask ourselves why even they initially moved there, then promote it like they have. That said some have fallen out with the place & other vloggers. Dramaguete is a word spoken often by many, especially Filipinos who have witnessed dramas in the place. Having travelled extensively, it'll always seem odd, yet interesting to me, that some many of one nationality (Americans) have fled there, as apposed to the many thousands of other great places in the Philippines.
