GSW and LA should NOT have had to play each other for something that they already earned through playing 82 games. Just because you won *ONE* lucky game against a seeded team, doesn't mean that you deserve to be in the playoffs. 2021 would have been interesting if they remained the 8th seed. Adam Silver is putting too much goofy stunts in the league that kind of taints things. 2021 GSW in my eyes was already a playoff team and play-in shenanigans ruined it.

Like he wants a commissioners cup tournament and I'm like, "you do have the All-Star week" what is the commissioner's cup going to accomplish? He's pulling these ideas from soccer leagues that have like 50 teams in them. Unless he's going to expand the market 20 teams, none of this works. Especially since everything in soccer is single-elimination whereas basketball is a best-of elimination series. "Why the hell should a 10th seed fly to the 8th seed just for winning one game? At that point just make a mini playoffs series with 3 games or some shit. Or better yet, just not make the play in a thing in the first place?" I would actually just want the play-in to not be a thing. It was cool for Covid, but we past all that now. Silver is just trying to cram as much basketball as he can in a season and that doesn't make an exciting product. Especially when these crybabies are trying to play less.

He’s a good guy: the way he handles himself, the fact that he is a family-oriented man, and overall just a good dude trying to make do with life the best way he can for the wife and the kids - like any good, family oriented dad would… except he has godly basketball powers and makes bank every year, unlike some nobody like me. I cried with him through my TV screen when they won. I couldn’t help it - it just resonated so much. It was such a good-guy-still-wins moment. I know he’ll never be MJ, he was just given an entirely different set of gifts. Frankly, for me, he doesn’t need to be. But to me, he’ll always be Steph - a remarkable inspiration, and him being one of the absolute greatest players to ever play is a hill I will proudly die on. Top 10, without a doubt.

They don't like Steph because he has put paid to the old notion that only big, powerful dudes can play basketball. Now smaller players in playgrounds across America and the world have hope they could make it too. Will they? Probably not, Steph's skill is an extreme anomaly, so transcendent he rewrote the rules of basketball. Steph's greatness makes players taller and bigger than him look pedestrian by comparison and threatens the old guard, who are championed by the talking heads/old media that players like Draymond Green threaten with his 'new media' hot takes. They hate the idea that a little kid can be just as elite as someone twice his size, it threatens their old school sensibilities of how the game is played. Now if you don't have a jumpshot, you probably ain't getting minutes unless you are amazing at other statistical areas and/or your intangibles. You can sum up this debate, this new battleground of Basketball meta simply: Steph vs Lebron. Lebron represents extreme Power (old guard), Steph extreme Skill (the new guard). Lebron is old school basketball excellence, power, dominance, brutality. All the stuff the old media and old players like. And Steph? The little 6'2, 190 pound Chef? He's all about skill and finesse. That's why the new media and the new players like him. Oh and he rewrote the rules of the entire game. 'Nuff said. Incidentally, I find it fascinating that they were born in the same hospital, the same state, 2.5 years apart ....

How come they don’t define other players by the low points? I never hear Michael got his ass handed to him by the Pistons and Celtics before he finally won! I never hear about Lebron’s six final losses before they talk about 2016… or him getting swept twice in the finals??? We never hear about the Unanimous MVP in the context it deserves! Haters can just keep on hating! please do because it just motivates him more to keep collecting those chips…

Do u know why players like mj arent judged as often as steph? Because they didnt play in the social media era. Everyone is now open to an opinion and can comment on everything good/bad. For example, kareem won an mvp when he missed the playoffs (i forget which season). If that happened in the social media era, he would get roasted. I like to factor in everything: the good and the bad. Dont define players by their mistakes 🤷‍♂️

Also, Lebron's 2011 Finals embarrassment performance is worse than the Warriors in 2016 3-1 blown lead cause Lebron was on a superteam in 2011 but Warriors had injured players and Draymond suspension otherwise they would've won the series. Yet almost no one brings up 2011 against Lebron cause they all have recency bias.

@DoubleDWorth back in the day, basketball was played by guys of regular height. Then guys like Bill and Wilt came in and made the smaller guys struggle. Since then it's all been about big guys (6'6" and up) in the narrative. Then Steph shows up and makes everyone go "Hey, a highly skilled, regular height, guy can beat the big guys". And we're seeing that more and more now. GP2 is an "elite defender" and he's just barely over 6'. But the narrative is still "these guys will never be top 10 because they're not big enough. Warriors will lose because they don't have enough 'bigs'. KD is better because he's a better defender (because he's taller)". Can you make a video discussing how the NBA is moving away from "go big or go home" to "high skill, high reward" yet, especially the media, are unable to accept that? Sorry if I'm asking too much.

This is actually a great idea for a video! I honestly feel like a big part of Steph being discounted and dismissed from Top 10 players talks is solely because he doesn't fit the GOAT archetype. He's not big or bulky, high-contact plays are not his go-to (but he sure as hell can deliver on the paint), and he's so unassuming for a player his caliber. He overcame a league where bigs thrive with great shooting and great ball handles. He's also a great team player and leader. I really hope the media starts highlighting the fact that a small player can undoubtly dominate and give Steph the credit he truly he deserves.

A unicorn among the unicorns. He paved his own way. We have never seen anything like this. We have never seen the gravity at the perimeter like this, never seen a shooter like this. People talk about atheletism, nobody runs harder than steph ever. The motor on this guy has never been seen. The humility, charisma and heart on this guy is inspiring millions around the world. He isnt like the other greats who were always destined to be great. He has always been underestimated despite how he will go down as the top 10 player ever. And you back it up with nothing but straight facts. If you had the chance to debate with the likes of Skip Bayless, Max Kellerman or Jay Williams, they would be absolutely destroyed. But the narrative isn't over... People have the audacity to say that 2019 Finals is a proof that Curry is a chocker and Warriors need KD, even though Klay, Cousins and Iguodala got hurt (besides the fact that KD took the depth out of Warriors, so when he gets injuried it means even more) and Curry avaraged 30, 6 and 5. They will always invent something

I remember someone saying why Steph gets so much hate and doubts is because he's just too damn perfect. People hate him because they ain't him and can't even be a fraction of him. There hasn't been this much level of envy and jealousy towards a player in recent times. A lot of his achievements are unprecedented in basketball. To be the only small guard/player to breach the list of top 10 players of all time is insane when size and athleticism is so important in this sport. To change how basketball is fundamentally played. A unanimous MVP. And this dude had ankle problems after coming out from Davidson lol. A player that lead his team out of an actual abyss in 2020, played like an MVP and won the scoring title in 2021, and won the chip in 2022.

Excellent video. Thank you. I believe this "War-On-Steph" started after the 2016 regular season and after Steph won the first-ever unanimous MVP. after the Warriors' in general and Steph's in particular popularity started growing exponentially and he became the face of the NBA by every measure at the expense of Lebron James. THEN ... it was no longer about Lebron and Steph. Now, it is about Nike vs. Underarmor. Nike had invested lots of money in Lebron since his high school stardom, and until that point, has been relatively a disappointment to the overhype and the wild expectations they put on his shoulders. Can you imagine Lebron losing the 2016 finals!! it would've been RIP Lebron, as most NBA fans had almost forgotten about him the whole year as they were busy with the heroics and the amazing display of Steph Curry and the Warriors. So, Nike pushed the NBA after game2 of the 2016 finals (only hypothetical and I have no proof) to do everything they could to prevent Lebron from losing. Also, the Lebron-driven media had no choice but to bad-mouth Steph because he was the only roadblock to Lebron's winning more titles. Even the story of the suspension of Draymond Green on a play that was not even called a foul during the game. It was only brought up in the press conference by Lebron's boy Dave McMenamin to become the biggest felony in history later on and to get Draymond suspended in an attempt to shift the momentum. They were the most bothered by KD's move to GSW because they knew from that point and on, Lebron has 0 chances of winning another title. They did everything in their power until they had them separated again. After the 2022 finals, they were shitting their pants and saying oh ...shit. Now they're dreaming of bringing KD and Kyrie to Lebron so they continue their ridiculous GOAT theory.

Here is what I thought about the whole golden state needed KD narrative. The notion that golden state wouldn't get a different above average player if they didn't get KD literally didn't exist Everyone assumes if they didn't get KD, they wouldn't take ANYONE else

And the wiggins thing truly disproves it. Kd for the warriors just filled the 3/4 position, and wiggins did that in 2022, Barnes in 2015 and 2016. Did kd do it far better? Yes. Does it mean he needed to for them to win? No.
