    Take a moment to appreciate Steph's Greatness: Averaging 34 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists a game Shooting 50 FG%/49 3PT%/86 FT% from the field And that doesn't even do his finals performances justice, because he didn't play a full quarter in game 2 (where he had 29 but probably would have wound up with close to 40 if he played that 4th quarter at home). HE HAS 137 POINTS IN 148 MINUTES Scoring almost a point a minute, shooting the lights out in efficiency, against the #1 league defense when everyone in the building knows he is the only consistant offensive option for the warriors. We are witnessing greatness Look at Curry man so inspirational

    Besides Steph's phenomenal masterclass performance. Let's give major props to Wiggins, Payton, and Looney for playing outstanding tight defense (especially limiting Tatum & White to under 33% shooting) and crushing the boards where the Warriors outrebounded the Celtics on both ends by 13 altogether!!

    I don’t understand why gp2 and looney aren’t getting more minutes. Looney should be getting 30+ and gp2 should be getting 20+. Take some minutes away from draymond and Poole/klay when they’re having a rough night

  • @TheHeadincharge

    @@Willy72070 It’s not always that simple. You have to balance defense with scoring ability and prevent over exhaustion. When they play lower minutes, they can be more aggressive and extend more energy. Everything is a give and take and there’s a reason why they’re playing the minutes they are. Honestly, we just don’t know enough as fans to really comment much on rotations as they can depend on so many factors that we are blind to.

    A lot of it depends on what Boston wants to do. Boston has been doing drop coverage on Curry, allowing him to space to shoot and he's been torching them. But what the drop coverage does do well is maintain defensive positioning and structure preventing other warriors from finding looks. So it's no coincidence that the others are doing poorly based on Boston's defensive scheme.

    Watching horford drop consistently on screens that are set for steph are making me go crazy, you can’t keep dropping when you’re guarding the best shooter in the world. You’ll live with whoever is the screen setter making their own play just make someone else beat you, you have to smother curry as soon as he comes of that screen and it’s mind boggling watching them let steph comfortably male all these deep shots which he’s capable of doing.

    Golden State is specifically targeting Al Horford, they know that he cannot guard curry 1 on 1. If Al steps up curry will just blow right past him, it’s really just pick your poison in that situation, and Boston seems like they’d rather take a contested 3 than a free 2 points

  • @panner11

    @panner11

    The best answer is probably to give him different looks by doing both approaches at different times in the games. Most teams smother curry on the pnrs, and the warriors are extremely experienced with this. They just have Steph pass it to the short roll man who goes downhill and immediately makes a pass to the open player in the paint or the 3pt line since two players have committed to steph way outside the 3pt line and have no time to recover. It really is pick your poison.

    Game 4 Steph felt like watching Micheal Jordan and the bulls in the early 90s. Back most of the players in that time were two way players and you had to be good at both sides of the ball or you weren't in the league or you played for the bulls. And Jordan had to be responsible for 50% of the win while the other 10 guys shared the other 50%. Kause Steph(and Wiggins to a lesser extent) carried them to win against an obviously better team

    Klay showed up in the 4th, made the Celtics pay. However I don't like how some say curry didnt show up when mans attracted Tatum and brown on a double team which allowed klay to waltz into a practice shot for the lead. Poole hasn't had that offensive production he had early in the postseason, and gp2 can get you a couple stops. Let's see how they handle it in game 5.

    Same criteria you are outlining for the Celtics (shooting struggles, injuries, etc.) are issues for the Warriors. Game one, was a massive let down and the Warriors should have won that game but the Celtics role players had a otherworldly 4 qtr. The story in the series is 3rd and 4th qtr. Warriors dominating the 3rd all series. But, the Celtics have won 2 4th qtrs and that is the difference. Warriors have to close out the 4th qtr and Celtics have to find a way to prevent the 3rd qtr losses.

    For people wondering why Boston don't double step and let Steph beat them by doing drop coverage defense, because if they start doubling him he can just pass any roller to pass to perimeter shooters, much like what happened in 2019 WCF. Also GS now has so many shooters so doubling and targeting Curry will kill them by 4 v 3. They are just playing by statistics.

    The Celtics have matured so much these playoffs, even their complaining to the refs has gotten better they’re much more controlled and their offense reached a level that they weren’t even at during their regular season run. However, those last five minutes was first half of the season Celtics. JB went into hero mode and attacked Klay on isos like three times in a row and didn’t score once, then Tatum who’s normally the closer hasn’t touched the ball in a few possessions so he goes hero mode and next thing you know the whole team is cold and jacking up threes and falling asleep on defense. Celtics were by far the better team for 43 minutes in this game but curry carried the warriors so much that they were in the game at the end and able to put together a few good possessions in a row and steal this game.

  • @adam17

    All these teams that are hurting for an inside presence to get boards, play defense, and set screens, should really consider throwing some money at Looney this summer. Dude is excellent at all the small things that make a difference. Positioning, timing, space on defense. Teams like the Mavs and Hornets would benefit so much from his play style.
