From The Concrete | A Derrick Rose Documentary
An original documentary that follows the journey of the former MVP of the NBA, as he tries to fight his way back from injuries and re-establish himself as one of the game's best.
People love to use Derrick Rose as one of the game's greatest "what ifs". What if he hadn't torn his ACL? What if he had played better with LeBron in Cleveland? What if...what if... what if. But when I think of D-Rose, I don't think about what could have been. Instead I'm amazed at the fact that an individual could endure as many obstacles and roadblocks as he has, and still be able to compete (let alone thrive) at a professional level. This is my tribute to a player that inspired me to fall in love with the game of basketball during his time with the Chicago Bulls, and then inspired me in a new way over the past few seasons as he re-invented himself on the court and found new ways to succeed. From the 50 point game in Minnesota to putting the Knicks on his back in the 2021 playoffs, this documentary is a front row seat to what it truly means to bounce back from rock bottom. A lesson we can all learn from.

Derrick Rose is the story of a man who gave his all and got so much less than he needed from the league that he loved for so long. I'm glad D Rose has seen a new lease of life with the Knicks. The loss of a prime D Rose is one thing but for the Bulls to trade him just felt like a stab in the gut for those rooting for his comeback. D Rose, i know you won't read this but you're one of my all time favourite players and i say that as someone who's been watching since the mid 90's. You made me inspired to be a Bulls fan again after the ingnonimous period of the post-Jordan era teams. You were incredible to watch. One of the greatest human highlight reels of all time. I'm so sorry that you'll never be able to show us your full potential. You deserved more. But we're all immensely proud of you for what you've done with your life and your story is inspirational. I say this as someone who's struggled with depression and anxiety for much of my life. Stories like yours mean the world to people like me. Much love to the Windy City Assassin.
That Utah game made me cry! I'm so happy he gets a comeback where so many stars like Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway didn't.

Derrick Rose is by far my favorite player. Being a knicks fan, I was beyond happy for his first Stent in NY. Yeah it was rocky but I loved it. Now him being here again and thriving brings me so much joy. I already knew this story but the way you produced it had me sobbing

Drose is going to go down a legend man regardless of accolades , he’s came back from things I don’t think any other player could have and the way it was all perfectly orchestrated shows this is his gift in life to touch people with the way he plays ball and the way he carries himself on and off court, truly an inspiration and always will be the people’s MVP. 🌹

What really got me was when Charles and Kenny were saying that D.Rose career was over and the other was when he scored 50 points with the Utah Jazz a team that had waived him that goes to show nothing is impossible when you really want it 🏀🏀🏀 BIG UP from Ireland 😎

This man life is so inspiring not about basketball but the lessons of life facing adversity and your darkest hours and overcoming it all rose will always be may favorite player and forever mvp. He has never been a NBA champion, but is a champion in life.

Rose remains my favorite player in the NBA despite of the new talents now. I always believe he will come back one day and prove something of himself again. Grew up loving basketball as a kid, never played in school but was a very good park & streetball player, discovering Micheal Jordan on tv Back in 88 when I was then 14 now 48 was a Bulls fan from that day never missing a game, kinda lost my love for the game after MJ's second 3peat & retirement UNTIL D Rose Came along Rekindling my fire & love for watching a player like MJ & D Rose play the game of basketball, I've not yet watched this video but I did watch Rose Career in the NBA it's sad how he was injured I watched Pooh a couple years ago love ya Rose 🌹 & thanks for the video I'm about to watch blessings 🌹💯💪🇺🇸
