I have realised Steve cares way more about being caught than I do but he cares WAY less about his equipment than I do. He leaves stuff outside and puts electronics, sleeping bags and food on the floor etc. there are so many videos of him where his sleeping equipment is being rained on and it hurt me but he is paranoid about being caught. Funny thing is, he is still alive and from what I can tell none of his equipment has been destroyed. We should all care less :D

I would be surprised if the guards didn't know Steve was there. But also, sleeping at the airport isn't a huge risk or even weird. There are plenty of reasons for people to sleep at the airport (flight cancelled/delayed, missed flights) so security probably wouldn't care if someone was sleeping as long as they weren't causing issues.

I’m a flight attendant , I lived in my ford e250 van for over two years in the employee lot at the Oakland airport . Those were some good years, kids . Saved a ton of money, traveled the west coast, surfed , mountain biked, and hiked most of OR, WA , ID, CA. . Stay low key and no one will mess with you.

Steve is literally one of the greatest campers of all time..If camping as a league Steve Wallis would be Wayne Gretzky.

This guy is really wholesome to watch. He came up on my recommended and I just kept watching videos. It's just something about the mundane camping situations he shows off and his calm demeanor that make him really likeable and down to earth imo.

Why worry? Did he not pay for the parking lol? Largest danger would to get a ticket for not paying, as long as you have paid for the parking you can camp there as long as you wish...

I slept in my car when I was evacuated during the Napa wildfires. I didn’t want to go to an indoor shelter because of COVID. Anyway, I went to the dollar store and bought some black foam core poster boards and a utility blade. I easily cut the poster board pieces to fit into my windows. From the outside it just looked like tinted windows. I stayed in a parking lot evacuation area at a park, so stealth wasn’t the goal really. But I wanted to make sure that someone couldn’t tell if I was in there or not, or whether I was alone or not. PS. I own a VW Beetle and made it work. Also, I clipped mesh laundry bag in the window when I wanted air while I was awake...this slightly blocks the view from outside and made me feel more comfortable that someone couldn’t just easily reach into my window.

I used to drive 700 miles to a delivery every other day. Between Connecticut and georgia. Used to sleep in my box truck by hanging a hammock from wall to wall using the existing wall anchors. Never got busted. Always used a contractors trash bag to hang over the door between the cab of the truck and the box. I found if you take a small terracotta pot and invert it over a tea light one can really heat up the box pretty well. Plus if one buys some pizza dough and places it in a second flowerpot placed on top of the smaller(heater pot) one can make impromptu bread over the corse of the life of the tealight. I will make a video someday. Hopefully before i die. Kidney failure sucks. Being on dialysis and watching your videos brings back great stealth camping memories. I found if you think you are going to get caught you will but if you ignore the guard's behavior then you can make it without worries. Stay safe Steve and keep pumping out videos to bypass my time on Dialysis. THANK YOU

i think we can all relate to that feeling that everyone is looking at us and judging us yet in reality they don’t even care or even notice we’re there… an amazingly calming realization when you think about it 😊

I love Steve's low-key delivery. That has to be the most understated reveal of a landmark plaque in KZread history. Brilliant natural comedian and way smarter than he looks (no insult intended).

Kick it up a notch: Start camping in really strange places. Like a storage closet in a hospital. Or one of the tuff sheds in the parking lot at Home Depot. ;)

Yes, try unusual but doable overnights! And as close to free as you can. Walmart parking lots are free and doable with permission for one night. Also, spend some nights as if you were homeless. What would you do? Where would you go? Try a men’s shelter for one night if you could. If you can find one not locked all night, spend the night in a Catholic Church. Lots of things to try.

every couple of months i come back to this video because its the first steve wallis video i had ever seen. while i stay for steve, back then i couldnt stop laughing at that big ass sandwich. it never ceases to make me cry laughing seeing steve going to town on that gargantuan sandwich while reading all the hilarious comments about how he could hide in it for warmth.

"...but those poor gorillas" really got me, such a perfect deadpan delivery!

The frost layer on the inside of your car windows is a dead giveaway that someone is inside the vehicle. That sub sandwich is enormous. LOL

Man, this takes me back to my roadtripping/backpacking days. We once "stealth" camped a night in the car, parked in the middle of a nice residential area in Banff... woke up to a cop knocking on our windows. They were super nice about it though, and just let us take off with a warning.

I can't stop giggling at that massive sandwich. Freaking absurd 😂

You certainly dont need to apologize. These stealth camping ones are the best ones. I've been checking my notifications all day for this! Should call it Sneakin' With Steve.

when i was thinking about why this seemingly ordinary video has so many views...i realized...it feels like we are all together...hiding from the security guard!!! this is awesome!!

We all love Steve especially right now with all the crazy things happening...it's nice to laugh at his genius.

We have done this many tines. We always use black blankets for extra protection on top. Once in a heavy snow storm we stayed in the parking area that had a level we put the snow protection covers on the front and back as if when our trip was over we could pull it off and drive home after a great vacation. Truth is we were inside our innocent looking van.

Did you just apologize for an abnormal camping with Steve video? As if there is a normal! We love it man, keep it up.
