Déjeuner signifie "arrêter le jeûne" / "recommencer à manger". Après une longue nuit de sommeil, nous nous nourrissons. Au final, les français disent "nous déjeunons à midi" mais c'est faux (en théorie).

The "hui" part of "aujourd'hui" is actually the equivalent of "hoy/oggi/hoje." French is just "on the day of today." And c'mon - French has "parole" (palabra/parola/palavra).

@@alwantamalus3709 "Hui" is from the Latin "hodie" (a contraction of "hoc" + "die" = this day) and thus the cognate of "hoy" in Spanish. So aujourd'hui does mean "today's day/on the day of today" - but it's all from Latin. "Heute" is similarly a contraction of older Germanic elements "hiu" + "tagu/dagu" (= this day).

In Italian we have an expression which is a literal "translation": "al giorno d'oggi", but the meaning is "nowadays".

“S’il te plaît” sounds like “Si te place” in Spanish. Nobody uses that expression in Spanish because it’s very formal and sounds old-fashioned, but it means the same thing.

in french "Word" is either "Mot" or "Parole"... "mot" is written/spoken word, and "parole" is spoken group of words. the verb is "Parler" (to speak) and adverb "Parlement". And this shows that french linguists created their own vocabulary, and even if the root is latin the result is different other Latin inspired languages.

In French we have alternatives for almost all these words : patterns (in colloquial French), ciao is frequently used, nonante (90) is used in Switzerland and Belgium, aujourd'hui literally means "the day of today", mot is a written word, but we say parole when it is spoken or sung.

Na Argentina, Colombia etc. todas as palavras aqui mencioadas sao iguais que na Espanha, exceto "patata" que no espanhol da America eles dizem "papa". O resto nao faz diferencia. Alem disso todos os paises de fala hispana nos entendemos bem entre nos, tanto na lingua escrita como na linguagem coloquial, ainda que Chile é um pouquinho mais complicado... mesmo assim nao temos nenhum problema de comprensao e nimguem pensa que fala outra lingua.

El Portugues de Brasil es diferente al de Iberia por una simple cuestión, quien hizo la obra de Alfabetización en Brasil fue la Iglesia Católica ,la mayoría de los Frailes y Monjes eran de origen Español, y hablaban un Portugués "chusco" lleno de Castellanismos. @@rrs7758 El portugués de Brasil no es tan diferente al portugués de Iberia en cuanto a la escritura, sin embargo sí difiere bastante en pronunciación, que es más abierto (es decir más parecido al español en ese sentido), mientras que el portugués de Portugal es más cerrado y contrae más los sonidos. En cuanto a vocabulario, las formas que usa Brasil también existen en el Portugués de Portugal en la mayoría de ocasiones, aunque el termino sea poco utilizado. Por otro lado en Brasil tienen como añadido palabras de lenguas locales que en Portugal no existen (además de otras influencias, como por ejemplo del inglés). Por ejemplo, la palabra taza en español, en Portugal se dice chávena, mientras que en Brasil usan xícara... como ves nada que ver entre las 3 palabras (la española, la portuguesa y la brasileña). Son lenguas que han evolucionado diferente, pero que aún no existe tanta diferencia como para formar un nuevo idioma.

The word apple used to mean a broad range of fruits and vegetables, the same way fruit means lots of different specific foods. It's why we have words like pineapple in English, pomodoro ("love apples" = love apples in Italian, also tomatoes uses to be called love apples sometimes in English), and pomme de Terre ("ground apples") in French.

@Biolou Yes, you are right, nous is more and more abandoned in spoken French, although I, for one, tend to keep using it when the on option might sound ambiguous. It does sound slightly formal, but everyone will accept it straightforwardly as an everyday word in a conversation with the unconscious and immediate feeling that you use it in order to avoid misunderstandings.

Pour arbitrer un peu : c’est vrai qu’on utilise « patate » autant que « pomme de terre » mais c’est un mot du langage familier chez nous. On comprend très bien « ciao » et on le dit pour faire « stylé » mais en français on dit bien « salut ». Et « por favore » on peut comprendre car ça peut vouloir dire « pour une faveur »… mais c’est pas du tout le sens de merci… donc cette vidéo est très juste et très drôle merci. Et avec tous ces commentaires j’aimerais bien entendre du roumain car je ne savais même pas que c’était une langue latine je m’attendais à un dérivé de russe. They really did on purpose to take the worse traduction. Cominciamo = Commençons Casa = Case (when it is a rudimentary house) Patata = Patate (we never use Pomme de terre) Per favore = Par faveur ( that kinda mean to help someone and is often used in politics) Novanta = Nonante (in many French speaking country and this word appeared in France) Parola = Parole (when it is a said word) Chau is really an Italian word, salut is closer to Latin salue.

Mexican, Angolan and Pasta are practically the same language vocabulary and grammar wise, spoken speech is difficult in every language so that's not really relevant when comparing them. Now baguette is certainly different and a bit harder though it just takes time. Reading and listening to French just makes the process much easier.

Uhm no, i'm italian and we say like "si parte" or "andiamo" like french ("c'est parti" and "allons-y", not really "cominciamo"!!! We also say pomo di terra in some dialects and aujourd'hui is the same root and influence as the others, also we can say saluti in italian and in french we also say "tchao" influenced from Italian, and French also say case to refer to a small house or hut, and Italian also say mansione to say a task or big house like a "mansion" very similar term right there. So yeah both are very similar and have over 90% vocabulary similarity and are mutually intelligible Italian & French! Viva l'Italia and Vive la France... ❤ much love bye this video just picked the words to make them seem so so different

? that's not really correct, we say "cominciamo", especially when we're about to recording a video. We use "si parte" or "partiamo" when we're about to leave for some other place. In this case "cominciamo" is correct. "Partiamo" or "si parte" wouldn't be correct linguistically speaking in this context.
