Karen and Stanley are the first emus I've met. Before them, I thought emus were small, dull ostriches, fool that I am. They've done more for emu conservation than any emu before or since, and they both deserve an award.

As an Aussie I'm glad you have learnt something about Emus mate. Don't worry about Amanda, there is no recorded deaths in Australia from these birds. I see Emus in the wild all the time, sometimes with many baby ones with them too. They are a unique bird, and Amanda gives them personality with her funny commentary. Have a good day mate 👍

I love how you accept your animal’s personalities. I’m the same way with mine. Though my “Karen” (a rabbit named Alfalfa) is a bit less violent, but has all the attitude 😅. I think he secretly plots my death when I turn my back, but when I give him his daily salad he momentarily forgets about it.

No such thing as a vegetarian bird. You may think some of them only eat fruit and seeds, but you put out some live mealworms when there are hatchlings around and watch those parents go. Chaffinches, dude, chaffinches, red in tooth and claw. Well, kinda creamy-coloured, because mealworms, in beak and talon, because birds, but still.

Omg when Stanley was dancing and tapped his neck on the ground I lost my entire SHIT! 😂🤣😂🤣 OOOOH my God that is the most fantastic dancing I've ever had the joy of witnessing. Just so... magical. 😂🥰

I think I've seen a video where Karen slipped on the ice so she was brought back in for her own safety. I imagine they'd have a very hard time recovering if they broke any leg bones.
