They sure are! My bad break was in 1986, and I’m now 61. The arthritis I have is terrible. It’s just my opinion but I think Karen played a roll in this injury. 🦶🏼🤣

I love horses, but after Karen, unpredictable horse reactions put a person at risk every time. Frankly, I am surprised that something like this hasn't happened already given there are 2 ponies there. Equines can be extremely competitive over food, and it is not safe to feed them with other animals around. I remember many years ago that a woman where I grew up went out to feed her 2 horses. She was taking grain to a feed tub in the field, and they found her body beside it with a small kick to her temple. She must have bent to feed the horses, and one got jealous and kicked out or something. I never forgot that. I had 4 horses that would get very aggressive fighting each other if I went in the field with food. Best to hand feed only with the fence between you, or to take them out one at a time to work with. Go in with food, however, and you may as well be chumming for sharks - if sharks were more interested in kicking you than eating you! 😆

FWIW I wear safety shoes wherever I am working with horses. Probably doesn't help with ankles but the toes and the top of the foot are more likely target areas. Hope you heal quickly Amanda because the crew needs you.

Sorry to hear about your injury. I currently have a fractured ankle and am in a moon boot for 12 weeks. I absolutely recommend you doing the same if they have them over there. It is healing nicely using this and you need your feet for life and as functional as possible for old age to stay mobile. Also elevate at the end of every day. All the best from Australia 🇦🇺.
