‘Srinathadi Guruguho’ is a composition by Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar in Raga Mayamalawagowla, similar to Raga Bhairav in Hindustani music. The album features selected compositions of the great saint composer, Dikshitar, who was one of the pillars of the Carnatic Music tradition.
Hailing from the Dhrupad tradition, Shilpa Shanker Narain renders these compositions with an internalized approach that lends itself to a meditative and immersive experience for the listener. ‘Iti’ is an album of nibaddha gaan, or closed format singing, embellished by rhythm on Pakhawaj by Roman Das.

In this manner(इति), you have completely justified the very thought of the title of this beautiful rendition. The throw of words is so clear and the subtitles have been soo useful for novice like me to understand each word and it’s meaning.
