    Superb video about the wonderful birdlife on this exotic island. Only the sounds of the birds in the background,and no music,just perfect! I have been planning a trip to this island for several years.I hope it will come true soon,when the pandemic is getting under better control.

    I watch many video on Sri Lanka but have to say this is one of the best wildlife video's I've I seen to date the ultra close ups of the birds are spectacular,I was wondering what video camera you used and particularly the long lens work please identified what focal length was used, from appearance looks like you used a 400mm with x2 range extenders

    What I use is a Sony FDR-AX53 4K consumer camera with a 20X optical zoom (500mm equivalent), fitted with an old Sony teleconversion lens VCL-HG2037Y factor 2X. I record moving scenes preferentially in FHD at 50P. I only us 4K 25P recording for long distance shots without too much motion. This allows me to crop later on during editing achieving around 1600mm equivalent without loosing FHD resolution. I render in XAVC S which provides much better quality than XAVC. Recording for both formats at 100 megabit sec to minimise artefacts.a 4K 50P camera would be ideal

    Helklo Billy, since we are no professional birders we preferred to travel with a birding agency and we really enjoyed it. Walkwithjith was just perfect. we stayed at the rest house Kitulgala, the Sigiriya Jungles hotel, the Leisure Village Hotel in Nuwara Eliya, the Hibiscus Garden Hotel in Tissamaharama, the Grand Udawalawa Safari hotel and the Rock View Motel in Sinharaja village

    @@admiral20055 You can't insult and attack Christianity in America, You can't insult and attack Muslims in Arabic countries, You can't insult and attack Hindus in India...Same here, respect Buddhism and Sinhala people if you want to live peacefully...Because this is the country of Sinhala Buddhists...If you can't respect, then go to your peoples' native countries and then go fuck yourselves.

    @@admiral20055 Stop talking about recent incidents...This fued began far more past than that...Even the Tamil King Elara also invade Sri Lanka from South India, and tryied to capture this country. But luckily Sinhala Buddhist king Dutugamunu saved this country again from Tamil invaders back then. Even past before Buddhism starts, Yakka King Ravana saved this country from Indian Hindu invaders and ruled this Island, but later because of traiters he got killed. This is not about Sinhala Buddhist...This is all about invaded terrerists from far back then to destroy and capture this country. If Sinhala people killed some LTTE supporters, then they did way much worse things to Sinhala people and Buddhism. So STFU, without talking bullshits that happened recently, you don't know the true reasons and the true facts happened in the past.

    @@admiral20055 and keep this in mind, we Sinhala buddhist and christian people don't let invaded terrerists to destroy our country, our heritages, our religion, our Sinhala nation etc...We would embrace anyone who come peacefuly or we would die to protect our country, religion and nation, even I would happily dedicate my life to that too...So we are just defending our things...Not attacking or forcing other countries or people to joing us or our religion like Muslims do.

    @@admiral20055 In Sri Lankan population 75% are Sinhalese and 70% are Sinhala Buddhists...And we are one of the most patient and calm ethnics. That's why still we are forgiving to these terrorists. Yeah, Tamil community has a very powerful diaspora. We don't give a fuck about them. LTTE was also one of the most dangerous and bigger terrorist group in the world. But guess what, we don't keep our calm if they try to destroy any native thing in Sri Lanka or Buddhism. We will bring a strong Sinhala Buddhist leader back to the throne again, not a puppet like current Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe. Then we'll see who touch us. I would die and dedicate my life without any hesitation for my ethnic, my religion and my country if there is a chance for that in the future.

    Thanks Guy for your previous response but I have one more question to ask if you don't mind you were using the Sony FRD AX53 4K camcorder with old front of lens x 2 optical converter, VCL-HG2037V giving you an image size equivalent to 1600 mm and cropping sat a later stage plus recording at 100 MB My question. How were able to keep the close up of the birds so rock steady at 1600 mm Most of the review I have seen indicate that you cannot successfully use the BOSS stabilisation system when the camera is mounted mounted on a tripod

  • @guymarchal8660

    @guymarchal8660

    Yes, it is a little tricky, but it works as long a you do not touch your tripod or your camera! a professional version of this camera would probably do a better job. I am also not impressed by the quality of the intelligent zoom. Panasonic does a better job in this regard.
