Birding Namibia August 2023 : part two
We visited Namibia in August on a self drive tour. As August is a winter month, it was cold in the South but in the North, cold at night but warm during daytime.
During this part of the year all migrating birds have left the country,
with only the non migrating species who can survive this harsh season remaining.
As a result, only a limited number of bird species can be found, and those also in low numbers. If not the best season for birding, it is excellent for game watching.
In this videos we tried to illustrate both the birds and the environnement they live in.
We included also the different species of mammals we came accross.
Namibia is indeed also a spectacular destination to go on safari.

Thanks.
Stunning video Guy, you had some absolutely amazing sightings! I've really enjoyed the videos you've posted so far, they're so well shot and very calming to watch. Just a small correction, 14:02 is a Black-faced Waxbill rather than a Violet-eared Waxbill - overall grey rather than brown, with a black rather than violet facial mask, and red rather than violet rump. Lovely find!

Wow factor obtains. Visual clarity and treatment of subjects make this channel's videos tops in their category. Keep up the excellent work.
Nice video. At 10:00 is Ruppell's parrot, not Meyer's

Agree, Meyers has a green chest and vent, Rüppels has grey chest and blue vent.
Another wonderful video. Thank you! Question: where did you have the interaction with the meerkats (6:00 minutes)?
