I have quite a few black locust trees in my area and I have got at least one started from seed . Have you ever worked with one not alot of useful info about for growing as bonsai

Old Iron Shops sorry for being late with this. I typed a reply days ago but must've hit cancel instead of reply?? Anyway, I don't have experience with them but I'd like to! I'd suggest treating them like any deciduous at first, branch selection after leaf drop, potting just before bud push in the spring & normal pruning after that. I'm sure there would be nuances to the species to learn. BTW dig the lathe resto...

@@bonedrybonsai4109 I'll keep you posted need to work on that lathe some more lol . Let me know if you ever fine and flat belt driven equipment pulleys are always in n need doe different ratios etc.
