    Chandelles? (hard to tell from the camera angle) and one version/aspect of a 'tactical' (corkscrew) descent - nice! Ive done a few of those with certain pilots. David Young is a good pilot, my buddy has flown with him a few times. Thanks for sharing Ben.

    @@BoB4jjjjs VERY risqué! I get the feeling that they were early teens, quite an achievement. From memory kit built aircraft has to have a minimum of a 500 hrs build. Off plans a lot longer, Eg Isaacs Fury, requires WW1 aviation engineering skills. Them girls did well.

    I think that the early versions were, two piece doors, no seals or rubbers and no heater? Later versions have sealed doors. I didn't realise that, until watching this video, the carb heat seems to be manual on them too, when Eurostar and C42s are auto. I wonder if the approach checks are not TWASFUN but BUMFITCH? Ben will know.

    hey thanks for watching! Well built ones are not too bad....but worth test flying one if you're thinking of buying. The new factory ones are not at all! This one has a draught on the passenger side (luckily for me! )

  • @BenAtkinsonVideos

    @BenAtkinsonVideos

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yeh I use TWASFUN for downwind - pre landing checks. Actually there is no carb heat on the eurostar or c42 i fly...though the c42 has an AUX fuel pump and the others don't. So I guess each and aircraft is a bit different. This heater is rubbish...but the factory built ones are supposed to be superb....very much c42 levels of comfort...for less!

    @@BenAtkinsonVideos I've heard that too Ben, the Skyranger when fully kitted out is as good or better than a C42 and it's UK made - although it was initially a French design. A UK designed and built fixed wing microlight would be nice to see.

    Thanks Brian, great! Should be a handy series. Just don't try that spiral dive yet...ha! Yeh it's perfectly allowed...but you have to use the chart too. And calculate your plan properly before. It was an iPad mini (wifi only) with a GNS 2000 module (£80 ish) which turns your standard iPad into a fantastic skydemon tool! Or just use a phone x-mount phone holder on the dash of the skyranger...thats what I've been using lately. Good if you have a fairly big phone...hope that helps! Let me know how you get on dude! 👍

    @@BenAtkinsonVideos I haven't flown for about 15 years due to kids, job etc. so I'm getting back into flying. I still have my whizz wheel and chinagraph pencils so old fashioned plotting etc. is fun. In the 21st century, I think GPS is so much easier so it may be a case of showing I can steam navigate and then following the magenta line. 3-Axis is a bit of a surprise in terms of a very rapid takeoff and the landings are a bit sporting at Westonzoyland. In your videos, I was almost expecting PAPIs on the grass runway whereas at my airfield, it's bloody steep and power off. Thanks for the Skydemon tip, I'll have a look.
