I remember this Spitfire parked at Old Warden in the early 60's alongside Sea Hurricane Z7015. They were there for ages. So good to see them both restored and flying.

That was cracking. I did have a Spitfire taxying for departure behind me at Lee on Solent last year.

You did a great job on this one Ben. The excitement in the cockpit was contagious and it made for really fun viewing. Some great photos as well which couldn't have been easy with that long lens out of the window. I also liked that knowing smile from him on the ground! We used to fly with the doors off on my old Nord and my 'late' mate Gerry used to lean out to take a photo (interesting considering that he could not go up a ladder to paint his upstairs Windows!) You must be especially pleased with this one and watch viewing numbers and subs rocket! Well done 😎👌👏

You should've been looking in your mirror for the Hun in your six o'clock at 9.54 Ben! Joking aside, I remember the day (18th August 2015) when I passed a formation of 7 Spitfires opposite direction at Dorking, Surrey. They were on the way to Biggin Hill to mark 75 years since 'the hardest day'. They linked up with 11 other Spits/Hurricanes at Biggin for a commemoration flypast. I had to jink left to avoid 'em! I even put it in my log book :o)

It only lets me hit the thumbs up button once, sorry! I tried learning to fly in the c42 at kemble, 10 bookings and 9 bad weather cancellations so I gave up. You seem to have reignited the fire for me Ben, Thanks. I only hope the flying school survives lockdown #2 and I'll give David a call in December.

@@BenAtkinsonVideos so i did my first dual nav ex last Saturday. This coming Saturday i will be doing my first Solo Nav ..... talk about excited !!!!! Keep up the good work, the videos really help inspire me and when the training gets tough i can use these videos to keep my end goal in sight. I am sure i am not the only one, but during lockdown it was the likes of you and Rory On Air and many others that greatly contributed to my mental well being. When the world as we new it was falling apart around us, you provide something positive to focus on. You have so much of an impact on peoples lives that i don't think you will ever fully realise the full extent. All the best Chris

Nice one Ben, we just missed out on seeing the Spitfuer, well done for being ahead of the curve. Great footage. Was there an aircraft orbiting behind you at 09:53 +/-? Let us not forget, too, those selfless people who went above and beyond in care homes, under VERY difficult circumstances, often times, on their own, with little or no help (Battle of Britain stylee).

Great video Ben , at 10:10 on the video footage did you clock the other aircraft coming up your port side from behind , unique moment being in loose formation with a Spitfire , thanks for posting

Wow - I’m shocked by your comment m. I’d like to see you come up with a visual masterpiece like that. That probably took Ben in the region of 10-12 hours to edit - maybe more due to the complexity of it. I am all for a bit of criticism but your comment was just plain rude. Have you not heard the saying “if you haven’t got anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all?!”- “Rox” - it’s easy to have a dig at someone when you are basically anonymous isn’t it.
