Speaking the unspoken conversation: Arnina Kashtan at TEDxBGU

Raised in an abusive home, Arnina Kashtan, like millions of others, learned to hide her vulnerable experiences, questions, feelings, in fear of not being accepted.
Her quest is one of learning and teaching to Speak Beyond Guilt and Fear.
She is an international speaker and a Senior Certified Trainer with CNVC, the Center for Nonviolent Communication (since 1992). As such she has been leading workshops, seminars, and retreats in Israel, US and Europe -- in Hebrew, English, and Spanish.
The founder and Senior Trainer of Meitarim, the Center for Nonviolent Communication in Israel (since 2000), where she also serves as Consultant and Mediator for individuals, families, and organizations.
As part of her passion to bring the consciousness of courage and compassion to the world, she co-founded the NVC "Conscious Leadership" three-year program in Israel, now in its 5th year, training people into becoming NVC coaches and trainers.
As a Senior Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie (since 1998), she has created a unique combination of these two modalities into a method of deep self-discovery, empowerment and leadership.
Her background as a musician (she has B.A. in music from the Israeli Music Academy, Tel-Aviv University, 1974), combined with her being a published writer and poet, translator, and editor, have been key contributions to her passionate encounters with a variety of audiences across the world.

Very inspiring. Very beautifully turning into words many of my (and I dare say many other people's) long-lasting thoughts and feelings. Society has a lot to gain from speaking the unspoken - both on an individual and collective level. And I am really happy that this is being shared widely through TED. Thank you Arnina Kashtan!

Dear Arnina, Thank you for this fascinating lecture I came to through Danit Bar's book "Childhood of a Princess". As someone dealing with the consequences of narcissistic parenting I found your content inspiring, I stopped reading the book as soon as you mentioned it, and stopped the video in the middle to write a diary of contents that came up in me, and it felt healing. I hope that over the years you find that more and more parts of you are healed. Wishing us all the peace of mind and all the good we deserve to live our lives as we were meant to or to save what is left of them in order to feel good about ourselves. Thank you for your sincerity and courage

ממליץ לך לקרוא גם the body keeps a score של bassel van der kolk הוא מדבר על טראומה בצורה מעולה שההורים הנרקיססיטים גורמים לילדים שלהם.

im a little frustrated cuz I'd really like to hear more details about the conversation that happened between the orthodox Jew and the religious Muslim that you mentioned at the end. I want to understand how these connections happen and have been looking for real examples. Is there any way you could write down or share the specific dialogue that happened? I realize this must have been years ago now; are there other examples of such conversations that you could share?

+‫ארנינה קשתן‬‎ Hello, thanks for the reply! Examples would be great. Any examples or experiences where some potentially violent conflict was resolved wonderfully
