Speak Like a CONFIDENT Leader! 3 BEST Ways to Improve Your Speaking Skills as a Leader
Do you want to speak like a confident leader instead of a hesitant professional? These three easy tips will definitely improve your communication skills as a leader so you can speak like a leader at work! This video focuses on how to use your voice so you can speak with a confident voice. I also talk about the words that you use and how you should aim for "verbal commitment" when you speak.
I cover speed, tone of voice, the upswing, verbal fillers and asking thought-provoking questions to initiate conversations. These are all important areas to think about when you want to develop a confident voice to improve your speaking skills and speak like a confident leader.
Confident speakers are not born that way. They use a variety of tools that they've learned to make their communication sound strong and confident. You can absolutely learn these strategies as well. I share many of them in this video.
If you're an ambitious professional, an aspiring leader or a leader and you want to know how to sound more confident when you speak, this video is for you!

The best thing I ever did to learn to communicate more confidently was record myself on video. I had no idea what I sounded like, how poorly I articulated my speech, and I was shocked. Those initial recordings never made it to KZread. And what I got for making improvements was a larger audience than others who have posted hundreds of more videos than I have.

Thank you so much Kara for these valuable tips. God bless you.
All my life, I've learned how not to speak. I found it is more practical, now I become stupid. But it is too late, I am 65 now. It is still good to know how to speak clearly.

Age is just a number. Don't worry how old you are.
Thanks Kara ! I like this advice of taking a breath, pause ,sloe down your speech!
Thank you, Kara!! Great kind of advice! One important addition is to clearly pronounce each word completely and that is why you sound slower.
Excellent points! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much Kara,I learnt alot from this video I naturally talk very fast and I'm making effort to control my speech speed
I find it very helpful when you give the comparison examples (good vs bad). Thank you for your work.

I'm glad I came accross your channel. Thank you for your lectures. Truly helpful. ❤
Perfect! I came here to confirm my thinking about the upswing. I used it a lot without noticing it until I saw a manager speaking like that in a conference. You cleared my doubt that now I should use rather the downswing. Thanks a lot! ❤

Thanks, Kara, for these helpful tips, and solutions for leaders! This is one of the areas I help Hispanic entrepreneurs who want to be Authorities in their industry or market. It is important to be ready, the best way, for TV, Radio, Podcast interviews or presentations, and for a voice note or recorded powerful message on a phone to a client, news producer, or show host. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Slowing down is such a critical thing to help bolster both perceived and actual confidence. Great tips!

Good points We used to call the the upswing "up talking"--Common in the progressive academic community. I also noticed it 50 years ago in Hawaii and in Scotland where it seemed rather charming. I am glad you mentioned "sort of" and "kind of"; I hear these so much on NPR (in the USA). "
frankly, your voice is the best. beautiful teacher, all respects 🙏❤

I've been trying out the upswing and downswing. It's interesting, but it seems like I sound grouchier with the downswing than the upswing. But it is less hesitant. 🤔
Thank you.
