    Clear and concise. There is only one priority. Leaders look that word up. Priority means “one”. First sign a “leader” isn’t doing is in which a meeting agenda that has 10 priorities. How can one have 10 number ones? The meeting is often long winded and drones on and on. People’s attention spans are gone. With 10 “priorities” which is the most important? Many times if the meeting drags on for an hour or more the meeting is really about the so called leader who called the meeting.

    Thanks for the advice. In my experience, CEOs and other "leaders" are so full of you know what that their messages are pointless and even insulting to one's intelligence. The most important part of your speaking should be that you are authentic and have credibility.

    Kara I have an interesting question for you. If CXO or let's say senior manager uses argument "I'm bosses-boss" to ask for "respect", because some decisions/info were made to make him less control does it mean he lose all confidence? I'm currently working towards going into C-level and all things what I see that everyone trying manipulate to make them look "good")

  • @kararonin

    @kararonin

    Ай бұрын

    I think that as many people get higher in their career and into c-suite, ego plays a bigger role and can often get in our way. Nobody wants to lose face. Nobody wants to feel they're losing control or respect from others. But trying to hold onto this control by using phrases like, "I'm the boss' boss" isn't effective in the long term. It might "threaten" people into respecting you in the short term, but this isn't what's going to get them to truly follow you. I recommend you aim for team work, collaboration and getting to know your team. This will form a stronger connection and you won't have to demand respect from people. People will naturally give you respect.
