Document everything. Keep a daily journal of your encounters with the problematic person and if you decide to go to someone else document their reaction as well as their continued treatment of you after you talked to them. Option #6 isn’t YOUR choice if someone is running you out of a job, depending on your circumstances it might be the best choice but by no means is it YOUR choice unless you want to leave your job anyway. I work in a machine shop and I was told when I started working there that my area is primarily men, which could lead to “uncomfortable” situations especially in the summer when it’s hot. I decided it wasn’t an issue because I would be respected, which is truly how it is.

That's why 'leaders' all want to have the last say otherwise people will think they aren't capable in their job... even if team members give good proposals etc. Good leaders compile anything that's good.

Hello and Good.morning.Your videos are very informative mam. I would like to know two things. 1. For the last 2 years I have been in my job and recently my boss got changed. I have analysed more almost 400 cases in the last 2 years. However my previous boss labelled me to my new boss as my analysis is not good. That I found very strange and lowers my confidence. 2. One of my juniors who joined after 1 year I joined , I asked for some help from him as I was short of productivity. Instead of giving me a case he asked me for help from me. Is it right on my part to not help him. I feel he does it deliberately.

You just work somewhere else. Once you make it to the upper portion of the diamond shaped industry you have to fight off headhunters with a stick. If a company gets one of these high performing workers and doesn't pay them, so many others will pay. If you are one of these high performance workers take a good look and see if the company expects you to work this way while others are not. They can get used to your work output that covers other people slacking. Then one day you are doing your own thing and FIGURED one of the lesser workers would do another thing but that other thing doesn't get done. If you get blamed for this its time to go. They are camping on you and letting the other workers slack. They will tear you up at reviews as well if you let up or complain in your work ethic while promoting the slackers simply for "having a good attitude about things".

Education is not about speaking skills about your thinking skills. Communication is nothing but a reflection of your thinking clear thinking clear judgment, clear communication. Do you wanna speak like a CEO? you need to think like one.

Two issues: 1) finding your replacement and 2) showing your potential/management skill - both can be knocked out with a pretty easy trick. Mentoring. Find a young/new person on your team (that you like and trust) and take them under your wing. Show them tricks that have made you successful. In the process, you gain an ally; train the next person up so your company doesn't have to search far for your replacement when you're promoted AND you show your leadership and management skills. It's worked for me.

Often your super high performers (seeing it from my own personal experience over the years) struggle with managing/supervising others. The biggest issue I often see is that the high performer, often has a pretty A type personality and puts very high expectations on themselves which then tends to get projected onto broader teams and often causes tensions and friction on the team they manage. Obviously, you should be good at the work you oversee so that you can address questions/issues but being an absolute rock-star at completing those work tasks is not a prereq for being a good manager.

Vry well explained the topic ma'am bt. in my opinion as a professional seniors should spend adequate time guiding nd developing their juniors, Mistakes r looked upon as learning experience, self learning should be encouraged to make them confident to face any situation,Task forces nd small gps.r used to develop employees, understanding nd competencies by Managers, Appraisals r used by reviewing officers to reduce or eliminate biases in their jrs., senior's should take interest in induction programme nd line managers should provide the rt.climate to implement new ideas nd methods.Quality of in house programs nd Training Methodologies will b excellent.External training program should be chosen carefully.Serious performance review discussions take place nd manager spend time on performance guidance nd Development etc.in brief in my views for effective goals.Vry true reg.leadership style .The concepts should be clear cut nd well understood before implemention in my opinion to get productive out put of OD nd OB.Vry.inspiring lecture.

It is so true, when people speak fast it is hard to understand what they are saying. Slowing down pacing makes the person seem more confident. I like the idea of lowering my voice instead of trying to force things. Thank you Kara!

Here are some ethical tips to help you network more effectively and efficiently: 1. Identify your goals. What do you hope to gain from networking - new connections, job opportunities, industry insights? Having clear objectives will guide your approach. 2. Leverage your existing network. Reach out to friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to ask for introductions to people in your target industry or role. 3. Attend relevant events and conferences. This allows you to meet people with shared interests and goals face-to-face. Come prepared with an elevator pitch. 4. Join professional associations or online communities. Participate actively by commenting, sharing content, and offering to help others. This builds your reputation. 5. Be a connector. When you meet someone who could benefit from knowing one of your other contacts, make the introduction. People will remember you as someone who adds value. 6. Follow up promptly. After making a new connection, send a personalized note to continue the conversation and suggest a next step, like a coffee meeting. 7. Offer value first. Look for ways you can assist others, whether through information, advice, or referrals. Givers gain in networking. 8. Maintain relationships over time. Check in periodically, share relevant updates, and be responsive when your contacts reach out. The key is to network strategically and authentically, rather than just trying to "network faster." Quality connections built on mutual benefit are more valuable than quantity.

The motto of a leader should be to only speak if he/she can improve upon the silence. I know so many examples of “leaders” who could not keep their mouth shut when this would have been the best advice in this very moment. Nonetheless, a very informative video 😊 … thank you for it.
