This is not just a clickbait type of title. I think that the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is the best small Android phone because... there is no competition! Everyone seems to have stopped making compact phones but there is still a market for them. Do you agree that there should be more flagship compact devices?

If you would have asked me this question couple of month ago, i totally would have agreed with you. but since then, i went from the redmi 4X to the oneplus 5t and i cant say it feels uncomfortble . the narrow body , the curves and oxygen OS, makes it quite usable in one hand

Sony is ome of the Few Companies that still focuses on making Flagships with variation of form factor That's nice 👌👌

I'm glad that Sony is still making the compact series as they were always great and the XZ2 is no exception. The more ppl realize how great Xperias are, the better for the market. By the way, good review Linus.

I got this phone for 300 euros (new) It feels really good in hand, thickness doesn't bother at all.

Really good work again, Linus! I'm pleased that Sony has maintained this trend where the smaller versions of the flagship are worthy of the flagship name in terms of specs and performance, particularly since the Z3/Z3 Compact. It was a bug bear of mine when Samsung's Galaxy S3 Mini and S4 Mini were Galaxy S models in name only since the specs were so watered down.

Smartphones are personal multimedia devices...no headphone jack is a major drawback - it is the trend but it's very frustrating in real world use

And again a great Compact from Sony. The pictures are just amazing, this this year Sony nailed it! The amount of detail is great and the colors are very natural.

It is capable of more. The camera supports RAW but SONY has not implemented it natively. This is a draw back on using post processing in the camera 2 API which somewhat handicaps its potential compared to other phones

As long as the camera is good with the default app, I don't really see any drawback...

I love compact phones!every company should produce compact ones with flagship features!really pricy for me but i wish i will buy one soon!!i own a sony XA1 and i love it despite the bad camera quality...if i buy this one the difference will be huge!really nice video!thanks

I have pre ordered this phone with Vodafone £39 a month really good deal phone arrives on its release date and it is a upgrade from what I have now the slow sluggish Xperia XA I am looking forward to using this phone

I just picked one up. I walk everywhere and appreciate the form factor. Here in Seattle, of course, the waterproofing takes away some worries too. We’ll see how much I miss my Moto. The one big disappointment that almost held me back was the shitty RAM allocation. For this kind of money I expect 6 or 8 gigs. This phone only has as much as some $200-?300 competitors.

Get s10e snapdragon ver, way better

One of the best compact phone.

Not really the best. Mine had a software problem. The microphone volume and adjustment was not working normally. The quality of call was not good and varies time to time. People on the phone could not hear my voice!

Dual sim is worth mentioning.

The portraits are good though

So as me, this is amazing phone. Sony xz2 Compact.

Big price for a small phone yes it has flagship specs but 500Euros would be ideal since it is poly-carbonate and no wireless charging Slow-motion feature is well implemented in Samsung wish Sony can copy it. Otherwise nice video Linus.

Yes that is true but the implementation in Samsung where the capture is automatic is better and it will take the shot almost every time.

Which is better between this xz2 compact and the xz1 compact? Xz1c has more battery life, and maybe is more usable with one hand then the xz2c.

Compact my ass, this is almost as big as an S7. Sad that Sony constantly messes up everything they touch. The Z5 Compact was pretty much perfect.

I agree with you that XZ2c is a monster cute phone. No other oem can match this small titan. but its DNA is quite inferior than the bigger sibling - no wireless charging + no haptic feedback... I can live w/o wireless charging, but w/o haptic feedback + no jack + 18:9 aspect + 5mp front shooter = nø buy. 😞😧😰 The bigger brother? It's nø Sony! It's HTC! 😝

Its a great device , however you make sure you have a real good protective case for this phone coze it tends to quickly slip of your hands ...there is no issue with the headphones use eventhough no jack ..Initially I had great concern regarding Sony products with propriatery software and very poor cutsome support world wide , however is a great device less apps the on Huwaei but in all is a great device !

What else do you want from a compact device??

9 hours+ of screen on time is impressive. But why on earth wouldn't they include a fast charger?

Replying back to you and Joe Me, but my personal conspiracy is that the phone manufacturers are getting some kind of kick back for cutting the headphone jack. Remove them, and the headphone companies will give them some incentive. It's all about the bluetooth business now. Accessories business is a big market. ;)

Sony is and was always the first in everything. To bad most ofpeople don't know these and are just wolowing 'the hype'

You can't avoid 18:9 anymore, and it's a silly thing to be stubborn about. The headphone jack is a more serious issue.

The back design is a deal breaker! Why they not keeping glass back like regular XZ2?? Look so bulky -even ZX1 compact is more sleeker than this.

noooooo its not the best ,maybe it has the latest chipset and screen and good camera , but wtf i hpld it in my hands and it feel verry thick, not mentioning that if u want to put a case on it it will be a proper brick... and heavy and feels verry cheap . My opinion is that is worst compact Sony till now ... Im soooo disappointed

the physical size (height/width) of the compact did not changed since the Z1 compact. Only the bezels got smaller thus the screen went form 4.4" to 5".
