compact BEAST - XZ2 Compact

Ғылым және технология

compact BEAST! This phone is a compact beast, the Sony Xperia XZ2 compact might be the last of its kind as the market tends to go towards the larger screen devices there is not many phones that have the same premium features in such a small package. The intentions of this video is to give my honest opinions and thoughts on why this is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a pocketable powerhouse smartphone and doesn't want to buy a phone from years ago like an iPhone SE or find the Pixel 3 still a bit too big. If you have a Sony Xperia XZ2 compact, please consider sharing your feedback with the community!Any further questions, comments, concerns, feedback, suggestions, please be sure to go ahead and post that down below in the comment section of this video. As always thank you for watching and be sure to be well and peace :)

Thanks for the review! I love compact phones, my ideal size would be between iPhone se and Sony xz1c. I really enjoy 4.6 inches screen, I wanted so much Sony to create a new compact phone with the same screen but remove those thick bezels making the phone size even smaller. They claim that the new compact is not bigger...but it is bigger, not a lot but I still can feel it. I don't like that it's so chunky on the back and overall I'm for the older design and fp reader on the side. Sony, make my dream come true, please!

I switched from a large flagship phone to the Sony XZ2 Compact and have no regrets! I'm amazed by the number of intelligent features it has and can rival any flagship phone in all aspects from software performance to hardware. The PS4 compatibility is also a nice touch and think a lot of PS4 owners are missing out on things remote play, and additional controller features! It's a shame that Sony doesn't get the recognition it deserves. A lot of people choose fashion over functionality and value!

The reason that people buy bigger phones is not necessarily because they like bigger phones. It’s because the best phones are the biggest phones. If companies would start doing smaller phones with THE SAME SPECS THAN FLAGSHIP BIGGER MODELS, a lot more people would buy smaller smartphones.

Not really, most of my female co-workers like bigger screen for media consumption mostly, and apparently the trend. And most of them enjoy 2 hands typing with huge phones. Compact phones nowadays are either cheap n crappy (mostly local brand from my country) or great spec with expensive pricing.

I had the original xperia. The xperia z5. And this year I bought xz2 (for me) and xz2 compact (for my mom or for my dad, and mom took the compact, while dad took a nokia). And while the review for it is nice. And it has a bunch of upsides. Like: dual sim option (some having dual sim), water resistance, lowish price, updates from sony for at least until the end of 2019 (they usually keep updating phones for 2 years, maybe this time will last longer), expandable storage, dual speaker, one of the best lcd displays out there and the latest CPU on the market when it was released. It also has a few downsides: its actually heavier than xz2. the camera is inferior to that of iphone x, xs, xr, xs max, s9, pixel, note 9, note 8, etc. Like, don't get me wrong, in day light, its an amazing and beautiful camera, quite good. But at night or low light, it gets worse. Sony phones sadly quite always had a "bad-ish" camera. Maybe that gets fixed if i download the pixel camera app, but to lazy for that. And I don't take night pictures almost at all anyway. it does overheat when it spends to much on camera, but the temperature doesn't go to high (you'll just feel it warm). Mom noticed that while using whatapp to video chat with me. And also, in 1 month, mom managed to make it freeze once. How to deal with the freeze? ignore the phone for 3-5 minutes hahaha So, as long as you don't buy this phone for the camera. And you are ok with the weight of it. Its a good phone. Ok, maybe it will freeze once every full moon (i still don't know how she made it do that, since i got xz2 with the same specs and I didn't manage to do that to mine), but overall there's no downsides. Oh right, other than people having no clue that sony is a phone brand. You'll get the latter one a lot haha edit, also I got small hands. And while the xz2 compact is pretty much perfect for my size. I went with the xz2 normal because i wanted a change (from the z5 compact). And its still usable. But definitely would like phones to stick to around 5 inches size. edit 2: it also doesn't head a headphone jack. For the people that REALLY WANT THAT. The xz2, xz2 compact or xz3 don't have this feature.

I have had the XZ2 Compact since launch now and the most impressive features imo are: great camera, stellar performance, great battery life (I get around 6h SOT while playing games and KZread over 4G for at least an hour) and of course the compact design that fits my tiny woman-like hands. Only gripe is the lack of a headphone jack even though Sony is an audio company. When using an adapter though, the sound quality is great (also see phonearena tests). Bluetooth with LDAC is also amazing and the screen is more than serviceable. Overall: 9/10

I bought this phone, loved the design of the rounded back as it hearkened back to hTC stacking the components in their phones, but it just would not connect to my Wi-Fi in my apartment. Instead, it would crash/reset the entire network, and in order to update it or download apps without going over my data limit, I had to go to Starbucks. I returned it because it would've been a sorry life to have to do that each time. It was an amazing phone. Then I tried the Xperia 1 out a year later, and it also seemed pretty amazing. Only, it just didn't dazzle me like this phone did. There was something about a Sony compact phone that finally didn't have the compromises of the previous compact versions: same processor, 1080p instead of 720p, USB Type-C, etc. The Xperia 1 suffered in the camera department, despite having its killer Cinema Pro app, but it just couldn't keep up with the speed and reliability of the Pixel 3's camera. All that said, I just pre-ordered the Xperia 1II, so let's see if that's a different story.

If you want a compact phone in 2019 I can recommend you this, don't be faked by battery size, cuz it beats the p20 pro in batteey life. but you should check the S10e, its compact tho and it has headphone jack, SD 855. Its better but more expensive so you have to look and becareful ^^

I agree I like the XZ2 Compact. I have the green one, but to be honest it was glitchy despite the specs. Plus even though it has Android pie, it's a watered down version of it. There's are some things that aren't available in the pie update normally. Aside from all that though the best thing about it is exactly what it's called.... Compact. It's so cool to use it with one hand, and you can even shrink the screen down even more by swiping the bottom tray over to the right. The camera is ok but it's probably my biggest knock. Selfie sucks but I don't take many selfies anyway.

Seen a couple of reviews of this and i keep hearing it's got some software problems/crashes. Atleast enough for me to avoid/be wary of it. But size-wise it's pretty much the last small phone with top specs. It's either the previous gen - XZ1 Compact, S8 & Pixel 2 or the newer S9, Pixel 3 - but they got increased and are on the verge of getting too big already. I don't really like the curved back thou, miss the flat design that Xperia Z1 Compact (2014) had.

Was my last good Android device before switching to iOS for the SE.. there were a couple cheap ( ~$50) phones in between there.. only bought because I needed a replacement phone RIGHT THEN.

That Google Pixel 3 is actually the perfect size imo. I'd like no smaller and no bigger than that. Too small is not good. But too big loses one-handed handling. Awesomely, all of the regular Samsung Galaxy sizes (S7, S8, S9) are roughly around those same dimensions. I remember the first time I held a Galaxy S7 in my hand... it was like biting into fresh bread. So if you want compact phones, yeah... you've still got some beast around.
