I'm just joking that the use of "pixel art" makes this video game feel as though it came out in the 1990s. 🙂 But to be serious and to respond to the comment by @mcs_drinkwater yes I do feel old upon thinking about this. 2017 was the same year that I finished high school and started college. Now it's 2023 in which at this point I've already graduated from the university last year and then started my career. No matter how long it's been, the "Sonic Mania" video game will always be fun for everyone and remind us that this is when the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise made a huge comeback.

More like 15 years, Sonic adventure 2 came out on gamecube in 2002.

I still remember the shock this caused me when it was announced, I couldn't believe that after so long we would have a 2D Sonic again. I watch the trailer again and it still gives me the creeps like the first time. It is a very nice memory.

Praise Kekistan, Nintendo and sega are now sort of like buddy's if you want to put it that way. They now work with each other in a way. So sonic mania is mainly released on switch as it is nintendo's product and sega would put their game on there. The only reason it is on different consoles is because they know that there may be some people who either hate Nintendo or cannot get a switch.

Wow, this comment section is a mess. "Release a 3D Sonic game already." A new 3D Sonic game, Sonic Project 2017 (Name not decided) is being released this year during Christmas. Around the same time of Super Mario Odyssey. "AND FOR 25 YEARS, HE HAS ALWAYS SUCKED" Every Nintendrone here. Sonic has had bad games. Sonic 06, Boom, Secret Rings, Black Knight. But he has had many great games as well, but no one seems to mention because they are to busy jumping on a bandwagon. Original Sonic trilogy, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Sonic Advanced trilogy, Unleashed, Colors, Generations.

it's my tradition to come back here after a few years and cry while nostalgia hits me like a truck from watching this.

I love how Sega and Nintendo used to talk smack about each other in commercials and were basically enemies, but now we have a Sega game advertised by Nintendo themselves. I think the human race should learn from that.

This bought a 😢 to my eye all I remember growing up was playing sonic 2 on my sega mega drive its the only game I had couldn’t afford nothing else and seeing that day made something so similar but on a new device like the switch is amazing cant wait to buy the game
