@@lightning13clair29 they weren't packed with content? sure, if they kept on releasing updates, then it's not like they had barely any new content, but they didn't. "way i see it don't play the game anymore" is such dumb logic because that's the entire point. we want to keep playing the game, but we can't, because there's no new content. there's a reason the only remnant of the mario maker community is basically just desbug and the competitive / co-op players, and the people making computers and stuff.

@@lightning13clair29 I'd put the multiplayer update up as a very notable one, but the reality is that people don't seem to recognize the gulf in the scale of the major updates in Mario Maker 2 relative to the small updates for the original. Some people are even at the point of saying it only got 2 updates outright. Looking through the patch notes and comparing to the original game really drives home how exorbitant the additions made to MM2 really are. The bookmark site might have been nice to see return, but I suppose they figured the improved in-game search was good enough in the sequel.

I still can’t believe Nintendo hyped up this game so much just for it to have 2 updates. Really wished they added more stuff to this. Love Mario Maker 2

Yes, they could add more themes like beach, volcano or more game styles like super mario bros 2 (not only the mushroom powerup but a full SMB2 theme), maybe a 2D version of Super Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy like they did with 3D World

This is one of the best games I ever played. I thought I was going to get bored but the building system really got my creativity going. These is a great learning tool if your looking to get into game design.

Nintendo: I still make the ninji levels...

The world maker is great, but it just feels so...limiting. Five stages per world means that you can't have long branching paths, the bonus minigames just award 1ups and you don't keep powerups between stages. I feel like SMBX back in the day was better at that.

@@da3329 that would be great. Imagine you love smash, but hate people that spam PK fire with Ness or Lucas. Just disable these fighters as opponents and you don't get matched. Plus: almost every other Online game gives you the option to ad friends or to block players after a match, which is a great feature, missing in smash.

I miss these updates so much, even though this game is still incredible it still had even more potential. Imagine if they added one or two more items every month for a long while, people would still be talking about and playing the game and it probably would've sold better too.

It's sad. Nintendo updates their games for like a year and then they move on. Mario Maker 1 stopped getting updates after 1 or 2 years. Then only 4 years later we get a sequel. And then Mario Maker 2 stops getting updates before it even reaches its 1 year anniversary. I've never played Splatoon, but did Nintendo really have to make a Splatoon 3 when Splatoon 2 still had an active player base and was literally on the same console?

@@papermarioparty08 I agree and can only hope we get another sequel soon on the next console that expands things even more AND continues to get updates after a long while. Also I kinda hope that Mario Maker 3 remains as a 2D maker because there still seems to be so much more potential for 2D Mario creation. I would love to build 3D levels at some point but I would be heartbroken if they just scrap the 2D level builder completely. And yeah the fact we have a Splatoon 3 right now feels very unnecessary.

@@MazeMichael Personally, I've played Splatoon 3, and there's enough new content to warrant it's existence. But yeah, it's frustrating how Nintendo will just stop updating their games so quickly. There was a lot more they could have done with this game.

Before reading, these are just suggestions, and comment below to either add ideas or add on to ideas mentioned here. This was a really good update, but if Super Mario Maker 3 comes out, here are some things I think would be good to add: Classic Multiplayer - Players get turns playing instead of playing all at once; can be switched on or off for super worlds and maybe courses by the player, not maker. More Customizable Liquids - Place water, quicksand, lava, or poison where you want, maybe with sloped liquids similar to Super Mario World. Doors and Pipes - Yes, I know we have these, but maybe we could have an option on whether they lead to a different sub-world or not. More Sub-Worlds - Maybe, we could have up to 5 sub-worlds. Roulette Box - Place up to 5 Power-Ups in and get a random one! Speaker Boxes & Drawing boxes - This could be like Yoshi’s Island, where the box shows text and a picture showing you how to make eggs. More course themes - Take these into consideration, Mountain, Beach, Carnival (Like in Super Mario 3D World,) haunted forest, and more! Reusable P Switches - in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, I remember a reusable P Switch in a ghost house level. Enemies with Balloons - Like a parachute, but the enemies go up! More power-ups - Ice Flowers, Mini Mushroom, Mega Mushroom, and more!

I hope to get this for my birthday! Iv played it on my friends switch and I fail in LOVE with it! and I am so happy for this update and cant WAIT to play!

loved this update as well as the last one and i love this whole game but im starting to run out of ideas how to create levels also there are some things smm2 should have atleast gotten: Ice flower Boomerang Bros and a patch for the Fire Bros and Porcupuffer’s being made available to use in all styles hope we get smm3 soon… but thanks for letting us create more levels nintendo and i will try to come up with more ideas

Did someone else felt like the game missed... A new theme? Just look at the theme selector, only one special theme? I´d give anything to have other new theme
