@Nigel Lush Since when did the mainline Mario games consist of mostly Toads? 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, 3D Land/World, and Odyssey barely had Toads lmao. Even the NSMB series didn't have that many toads, Wii and U were the most prominent but that's only 2 games

I've played every game in the PM series. Origami King is a phenomenal game that brings together elements from each era of the franchise, and creates something new. The massive connected world, the characters, the exploration, the story/writing, the graphics, the collectibles, the music, the real-time combat sections, the bosses, the dungeons...there is SO much to love in this game. it BLOWS the other recent entries in the series out of the water, and its not close. i haven't put it down since it came out. Its very very cool

I agree, I really like it. The combat is pretty bad though. Other than Bobby, the partners haven't really done it for me. I still just miss TTYD. I hope the they go back or just create a brand new mario rpg.

i can't get enough of this game. not quite a return to form but if you look at it from a different angle it starts to feel like the good old days with the partners, story and humor, the overworld and the strategic battles. not exactly the same, but close enough to remind me of it.

I actually love the way the bosses are designed in this game. I don't know about everyone else, but turning school/office supplies into monsters and weapons was something I did a LOT as a kid. Heck, I made my pencils and pens fight in a full on war against each other.

I know I’m late but THIS GAME IS A LEGITIMATE MASTERPIECE. I’ve never been so sad about finishing a game. The music was incredible. There are so many hilarious moments and I even cried about ‘Bhomas’ for longer than I’d like to admit. I’m just completely blown away. Thank you to the devs because they really outdid themselves here. 10/10 and probably my 2nd favorite game of all time 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@DueMagician921 Because in your point of view, Peach possessed by a millennial demonic spirit working to plunge the world into eternal darkness, feeding on people's vital energy isn't creative enough ? It's the only time in the franchise she is a "villain". And even if some ennemies like Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 or Gloomtail were just swap colors, they remained varied in their fight mechanics and weren't limited to classic enemies of the Mario universe known for years or decades as the Koopalings.

A detail I noticed was the boss wasn't hit 12 times when the lid was closed because he had already shot some missiles so you want to exploit his weakness quickly

While I wish the characters had a little more effort in them, the environments are certainly well designed and interesting. They really give me that classic paper mario feel.

Even though the characters may not look like much, once you get into the game, you can really connect with them. Tbh, I prefer some of them over the partners in TTYD/64.

I need to ask this, is it really such a big challenge for Mario to just unfold Bowser? Or does Bowser need some kind of magical surgery to be unfolded? I really can’t tell.

Late reply, spoilers Bowser got "bitten" by this Stapler which he can't unfold until it got destroyed, where the effects will be gone and he'll be able to revert back to his original form

Wrong, TTYD and Super Paper Mario had a way better soundtrack then Color Splash(Shadow Queen Phase 2 and The Ultimate Show as major examples).

I think Nintendo's learned their lesson. Toads are more of gimmick this time around than the whole game.

When the narrator said 'this is a toad' I felt that

The ring battles could work and be quite fun so long as there isn't "one right answer" every time, as it would offer a great deal of strategy relative to the visual simplicity/accessibility. Let's hope!

Even over a year after the game came out watching these trailers gives me the same feeling of excitement I felt first watching them
