Hey man look, I'm a guy that the only Mario he played is Mario Bros ds... Yeah I played that over 70 times and I'm tired of it. For me, this game is super cool cuz I can finally do that spin jump thing and get more power ups and stuff. I don't think it needs to be updated. It's perfect!

lolman 100 Well nintendo would probably do step 5.Online is disconnected...unless you own a wiiu,regular 3ds deluxe wiiu and then probably a dsi.then online will be unlocked,and the consoles should have your mii in them.

Guys it's the servers. Here's why Mario Maker 3ds doesn't have online play. Whenever a course gets uploaded, it goes into a server at Nintendo. Last I checked there 2 million Mario Maker courses uploaded on the Wii U version (correct me if I'm wrong), but the point is, those are a lot of courses. But let's look at console sales. The Wii U has only sold 13 million units since 2012. And the 3ds since 2011: 59.79 million. So obviously the 3ds version would outsell the Wii U version. Can you imagine how many more servers would be required to hold the courses coming from the handheld? It would be very costly. And right now Big N's focus on budget is on their upcoming Switch. So it's not hardware limitations or anything else (come on, this handheld had Smash 4 with online play) it's just Nintendo's focus is somewhere else, more important.

Davileet T Making a new console costs money, and sacrifices would have to be made. And lets take into account the development costs for the game. Since its a simple port, it didnt cost as much as making a new game. So buying new servers would decrease the profits earned, which is a blow out when dev costs are low. And can we please just recognise Nintendo's trying to conserve money.

My main fear is the possibility of frames dropping if too much is going on. Don't get me wrong, I know that the 3DS is a pretty capable system, but it can have it's moments.

This is a damn shame especially because the 3DS is capable of ALL OF THOSE FEATURES. Seriously, either they didn't want to put in the work or intentionally left it out so the WiiU version looks better. I hope I'm wrong and hope they drop more online features in a future update but we'll see.

The game is not empty or lame. It's just incomplete. The real missing feature is, well, the ability to UPLOAD courses. Adding the upload feature in any upcoming update (no matter how "basic") and everybody will calm down.

Jellomations 113 You won't be able to share your levels online, only by Streetpass with random people. But you can still play the 100 Mario Challenge and Recommended courses. Plus, you can play 100 courses made by Nintendo offline. So it's not all bad, but I recommend that you buy the Wii U version or wait for the Switch port to come out eventually.

If it goes on the 3ds the graphics and and the map size will decrease and players might be reduced to 2v2. And even if they did that the frame rate will be terrible. It won't come just get the Nintendo switch version or the Wii u

I remember near Christmas of 2018 i saw an Smm video in my recommendations. I watched it and it made me want to get smm. I got smm for the 3ds because it was portable even though i already have my wii U. I got it and i can’t: Share my levels, Use the mystery mushroom, 30th Anniversary mushroom, Use amiibo, and look up course ids. Now I play Smm2 for my Nintendo Switch. Thanks Nintendo for making me waste my money.

I wish they added exclusive Mario themes/types of gameplay for the 3DS version to make up for the lack of online sharing. Like maybe a 3D Land theme which would change up the way to make a level, or maybe even Mario Kart. It would really be different, and a fun addition to the idea of Super Mario Maker.

Hey I'm just pointing out that they said for 3ds and showed it on a different system. I know it works on a regular 3ds and the New Nintendo 3ds is very similar but this is mostly making fun of Nintendo calling it the new 3ds when it's not very new anymore. Okay?

the voice actor needs some lessons from Yamamura, i mean, he is making hot garbidge xD 1:14 , don't get me wrong , i really like the fact that they ported this over to the 3DS

setk Nintendos money is being pumped into the switch so they can't afford more servers, (an extra 12million players would need to be accounted for). They wanted to pump it out before Christmas so they will likely add and update later in the games lifespan.

setk think about the server load there were 6 million Wii U sold compared to 50+ million 3DS. I think that after the switch comes out and we see how much this game sells they will probably update the game. I would rather be able to search and play any level than upload my own

setk well we might get os in the future but the wii u can handle 700,000,000 courses but sadly the 3ds cant handle that much

Yeah I almost never use the Wii u version when playing this I prefer creating the 3 older ones. Mostly so my eyes don't burn as hard as looking at king Neptunes bald head

You can only upload courses on local network but you can play a limited amount of Wii U uploaded courses on the 3DS version.

this one feels like a transitional title, they were planning on making a sequel for their new console, however it wasnt out yet so nintendo was just like "heres a butchered port" without telling us "hey were gonna make a sequel for the switch we just revealed like last month"

Wii U version that came out over a year before: You can upload your levels to the world! 3DS version that came out over a year after the Wii U version: You can only share your levels with your friends and through spot/streetpass!

Hold up... THIS WAS 2016? I swear I dont remember this trailer at all wtf

this was my first pre-purchase and full digital game not free to play or vc or something like that

I have experienced some lag on Mario Kart 7 during online races and everybody is at the same spot, and everybody is using items at the sametime. It does not surprise me to have lag on Mario Maker either on 3DS. It will happen. At least, I can make levels on-the-go, and then copy it over to Wii U to upload.

I still love this game it may ha e been made years ago but it’s the still First game I got on my 3ds thank you Nintendo for making us this

1:26 They literally show the game slowing down due to excessive objects in the screen and don't even edit it to look good. This is basically a lesser port of the WiiU version. You can't share the levels, (one of the main parts of Mario Maker that made it so good) can't use Amiibo costumes. What's the point? Why did they even bother making it? Was it because the WiiU's lifespan was fading out at that time and they just needed to port some games?

In 2015, we have Super MARIO MAKER for Wii U. In 2016, we have Super MARIO MAKER for Nintendo 3DS. In 2017, we might have course uploading in Super MARIO MAKER for Nintendo 3DS... Or they would probably have Super MARIO MAKER for Nintendo SWITCH.

This will probably be one of my favorite 3DS games of the year, along with Pokémon Moon.

I remember me really wanting a 3DS and super Mario maker game for the 3DS! My dad got me a 2DS with super Mario maker. It wasn't a 3DS but I really loved it!

"Imagine Bowser, but bigger! And with a smaller Bowser as a sidekick!" Well hotdamn Nintendo, I never could've imagined such a thing.

Ya know what sucks? I can make good Mario maker levels. Ones I put thought into, and look absolutely amazing and are hard but won't make you rage. BUT I CANT SHARE THEM!!! And that just stinks because I bet that people who dont have a Wii U (and that's a lot) are gonna buy this for their 3ds, only to be wildly disappointed. And the even removed the mystery mushroom costume!
