I just finished a sweater with the step bind-off. Wish I had seen this first.

Thank you so much for this video. Working my first sweater with a sloped bind off and didn’t understand how to do the wrong side bind off.

I love how this looks. Always hated those stair steps. Makes janky looking seams. Instruction is a little confusing (to me). I guess I could have used seeing first bind offs of the first and second rows. Is there a way to not have an "elongated" stitch in-between first and second bind off. As I repeat watching, it becomes more clear. Thanks for posting all these goodies. I'll keep practicing.

Am I right to say that the first 4 bind off on the right is done at 1st row on right side of work. And the bind off on the left side is done at 2nd row on wrong side of work?

Yes. You can only bind off at the beginning of a row. It's not possible to bind off at the end of a row.

Hi. Thanks, that looks really a lot better. One point, on the first example of the return row (purl, the last stich was NOT kniited (purled), work turned around , etc. On the second time round, the last stich IS knitted (purled). But look good ... which one is correct 🤔

Try watching it again. The first pair of bind-offs are regular, the trick comes on the SECOND pair. Notice at 1:10 I purl to the last st, then turn my work, do the slip, bind off. Then at 1:45 I knit to the last st, turn my work etc.

Thank you so much for replying to quickly! I didn't think far enough - only the first two leave one sticht unworked. Go it. Thanks again.
