Thanks so much Patty. I’m exactly such a left handed knitter - I cast on with the needle in my left hand but knit with the empty needle in my right, so the long tail cast on has always been a true puzzle for me and I could never get past that twisted first row. Now I understand why. The fix is simple and I wish I’d found this video a long time ago! Now, long tail cast on is a breeze and works perfectly! Best 3 minutes I’ve spent on KZread! And your bag of trick book is amazing too. Thank you Patty.

That makes me so happy!! Makes me nuts how many videos there are out there that must mirror right handers without understanding stitch mounts.

@@PattyLyonsKnitting Exactly! I really thought I was misunderstanding something so obvious to everyone else, but now it’s all so clear. I actually think there are a lot of left handed knitters who knit right-handed (empty needle on the R) but who do other more complex elements of the knitting process (such as the LT cast on) truly left handed. No other video considers that and frankly, many of them confused me for a long time. It really is about stopping and thinking it all through. 😁🙏🏻 John
