I was going to use it for my shoulder shaping, but instead i practiced it, and used short rows instead because I had already completed the back and one side of the front of my sweater, but I will definitely use it next time, it just looks even neater than a short row, I guess because it doesn't have the wraps to pick on the finishing round.

I totally understand this and am able to do this, however I’m finding that my cast off loops are not even on armholes and neck edge. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Please help.

Woah, Staci, SO TIMELY and what a great result! I am not sure but I think I might have recently asked you for something like this because I was facing the dreaded stair step bind off based on my pattern. I am literally AT the row I would be starting my armhole bind-offs on my sweater back, so yay for this. One very quick question: is there any advantage to starting the slip of the last stitch in the row just before the start of the armhole bindoffs, to somehow smooth the first bound off stitch upon turning the work? Thrilled for your video on this super technique!

That slipped stitch left me with a loose stitch so when I sewed the seams together I had a hole on both sides 😩

I don't have a shop, and unfortunately, blocking boards like mine are no longer available. Blocking mats, with a grid, are a good alternative.

Could you make a video on how to seam on a slope? Or could you tell me what it is called? The mattress stitch did not work. I am knitting some footed baby pants done in stocking stitch and the legs on the inside seam are slanted. Thank you for any help.

Thank you for this. My left leaning loops are fine. But my right leaning loops are not--they look stretched. How can I correct this?

I did this technique, but when I slip the last stitch it messed up tension and I have very loose stitches when I pass over the first one. All my other stitches are the same except the slipped one.

A great technique!! Though I don't usually get stairs in decreases, but a huge jogged stitch where the stair should be :( But it's just as ungainly, and this is surely going to help with that, too? I hope so, and will try it next time ;)

Ah, I tried this but unfortunately it did not help with the huge jogged stitches... :( Don't know what would! (I do pull the yearn as tight as I can, but to no avail.)

+Dianne Shaw - there isn't really much of a gap there, but you can always seam by inserting the tapestry needle so that it splits the V of the stitches, essentially closing any gaps between the Vs.

Hi Staci, Just to be sure I'm understanding you: I'm knitting a baby sweater and, to shape the arm holes, I bind off 2 at the begging of a row. That slipped stitch counts as my first bind off, and I bind one more off normally? Thanks! I'll send a photo when it's done :)

Do you work the pattern while you bind-off or do you just knit regular stockinette stitches while doing the bind-off?

I need to bind off 1 st every 2nd row for V-neck. Did one side k2tog and it slant to the right. Dont know how to create a nice left slant to match the right side.

The v neck pattern I'm working on has a skpo for the left lean. Slip first stitch, knit second and pass the first stitch over the second as if binding off and that will decrease by 1 stitch. Hope that helps.

It should create a neat left lean to match the right lean. It has on the pattern I'm just knitting. I can't help with the crocheting comparison, I only knit because I have trouble seeing crochet. I tried to learn but couldn't see where to put the hook in.
