Can this be adapted for a purl row too? I can't find anywhere that shows this technique for purl bind offs.
Can you help me with a question about my knitting pattern please it say cast off 2 stitches at beg of next 10 rows please explain to me thank you
LOVE this and thank you for sharing your technique! Just wondering why on the 3rd stitch (next to the last one) you did not do the crossing over with both yarns

I think you only trap every second stitch.
I am so struggling with this Am in the Uk and we knit into back of stitch where as you knit into front Can you help me cast (you call it bind ) off in British knit
I’m having trouble casting off while purling. I don’t understand how to trap the yarn on the purl side
Is it the same when it said in the pattern “Cast off 1st 4 times” I don’t really understand it.
Hello ! Thank you for this tutorial, i was just wondering if this bind off method was stretchy? I'm using the long tail cast on method, and i need my bind off to have the same stretchiness as my cast on. And if it isn't stretchy, do you know another method ? Thank you in advance
@sowoolly

Hi! I don't think it's particularly stretchy, but you can do it using a bigger needle. Anyway, why don't you try it in a little swatch?
Brilliant!
I’m struggling with this technique to bind off only one stitch at the end. HEPL, please.
Hi what if you want to bind off 4 stitches? so an even number

I experimented with this as I had the same question. In the end this method worked: Follow the pattern as described in the video, but with 5 stitches instead of 4. For the last stitch in the row, repeat the stitch before (trap the loop, knit from the working yarn). This worked for me, hopefully it works for others reading this
My pattern needs to bind off on every row on stockinette. Could you pls make a video to bind off on the purl side? Thanks.

Hi Eliza, to bind off purl wise, start with purl one, purl the next, and pass the stitch over. From there, the repeat is purl one, pass over (to the end). It’s like binding off knit wise, but you have to purl instead 😉 I hope this helps.

@@sowoolly I need to bind off the right and left edge for armholes on the same row on purl side. I don't know how to do the 'trap' yarn. It would be great if you could make a video. Thanks.

@@elizalam7566I’m having the same issue rn😫 have you figured out how to do it?
Can you end on a live stitch for this to work? Or do you have to end on a “trap” stitch?
@sowoolly

I haven’t tried it other than this way.
It is very difficult to see which strand is used to cast off at the end.
Can this be done in rib?
Or, put the stitches on the needle without knitting them, turn the thing around and leave the yarn in between 3 back, bind 2 off, turn it back around and knit the last one. Works perfectly. Came up with it just now, after trying and failing to understand what to do with the loop for 5 times.

@@maelstromsonic yeah, I wish - it totally worked the night I posted this comment, and then I tried to do it the next three nights again and couldn't figure out what I did 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ can you believe it. It worked too! Now we'll never know.
This is what I have to do when the pattern tells me to bind off "every other row"?
I don't get it right. Help
