What a simple solution to fixing those unsightly shoulder shoulder seams. Oh if only I had such smart advice so readily available 60 odd years ago! Thank you Maryna. What a godsend you are to new knitters.

So easy once you know. I love this binding off. Neat!! Thank you.
This is a genius tip. No more short rows
Brilliant, as usual! I've long hated the look of traditional stepped bind offs, and this is so much easier than short rows. 💛

Brilliant. Thank you!
Fantastic!! Helpful!? This technique is amazing. And I'll certainly be using it on the sweater I'm currently knitting. I have a few more rows until I start decreasing for the armholes. I'm so excited! Thank you!!!

Thank you, Celia :-) You can use the same method to make the armholes of your sweater smoother. It works great for all kinds of shaping. Happy knitting!
Brilliant, thank you.
I've never done shoulder shaping. I've only knit raglan. When I get the courage to do other sweater styles, I'll have this in my back pocket. Thank you!
Thank you!!!❤
Of all the knitting tricks I have learned over the years, many of them from you, this has to be my ABSOLUTE favourite. It's incredibly easy and so effective. Thank you for sharing

Brilliant!! And it will be wonderful if what's needed later is not seaming but picking up stitches. Good heavens.
Terrific hint. Thanks!

Hi Maryna. What a difference. This is amazing! Thanks for sharing. Sadly my husband passed away 2 weeks ago and I’ve spent these last months taking care of him. We expected a better outcome. This was unexpected. So I haven’t been keeping up. This amazing tutorial really lifted my spirits. Thank you Mayrna. Have a wonderful weekend. ❤

@Knittyneeds Thank you so much for your kind words. I’ll take the hugs! I always watch her every Friday. I look forward to her videos! She comes up with the most amazing techniques. I’m just so far behind from taking care of my husband and frankly, the desire to knit and crochet is not really there right now. But today I made the time to watch and as usual it was so worth it. Thanks again! Have a lovely weekend.❤️❤️

Thank you! Can you please post a video on how to smooth out the transition between shoulder and neckline when the pattern says to shape shoulders separately but not to work the stitches in the middle where the neckline is going to be?
@10rowsaday
3 ай бұрын
Hi Sylvia. You can make the transition smoother by using the method explained in this tutorial - leave one stitch unworked at the end of the previous row, turn the work, then slip the first stitch on the left needle and pass the unworked stitch over the just-slipped one. But I find it helpful to have some "border" between the shoulder edges and the stitches of the neckline. It clearly shows where we need to stop when we seam the shoulders. Happy knitting, my friend!

I did this and I do like the straight edge I get but I end up with a larger stitch and a gap where I pass the unworked stitch over.

Try to pull the yarn a bit right after you pass the unworked stitch over. This will keep this stitch from getting bigger. Happy knitting!
Do you do the same technique on the sleeve cap?
