LYRICS
Bury all your secrets in my skin
Come away with innocence,
And leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage
For what resembles rage again...
So if you love me, let me go.
And run away before I know.
My heart is just too dark to care.
I can't destroy what isn't there.
Deliver me into my fate -
If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you...
My smile was taken long ago
If I can change I hope I never know
I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn't face a life without your light
But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight
So save your breath, I will not care.
I think I made it very clear.
You couldn't hate enough to love.
Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend.
Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a saint...
Ooh, my own was banished long ago
It took the death of hope to let you go
So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help
You sold me out to save yourself
And I won't listen to your shame
You ran away - you're all the same
Angels lie to keep control...
Ooh, my love was punished long ago
If you still care, don't ever let me know
If you still care, don't ever let me know...

I attempted suicide several months ago... While I was in the hospital, my girlfriend cheated on me with a close friend. I wanted nothing more than to die after that. Then I got better. But depression has hit me hard the last month, and I've just wanted to end it all again. But then I found this. This song has finally helped me move on, and see the bigger picture, to see that life can be worth living. Thank you Slipknot.

I find that has more to do with self than chemistry. Its been a long rough road my life has been on. In saying that there is wisdom gained. That wisdom leads me to believe it was never about her. Just what she represents of who I want to be within myself, for myself and who I feel I will never be without her. The reality is, that affliction is self inflicted and she was never real to begin with. Not entirely. She was/is a beautiful vessel that we filled with ourselves. We saw what we wanted to see and believed what we wanted to believe but we never really saw her. Just our own inhibitions, dreams and desires.

My best wishes go to you and your family. Grief is never truly a loss you simply get over or forget. It has a lasting impact on your life unlike any other, but savor the positive memories and push forward. I know that every day is gonna feel like Hell, but things will get brighter and you will build anew. Just remember it’s okay to feel sad, it’s okay to feel grief, and it’s okay to have an emotional outlet. The wounds will eventually seal. Take care friend and know you are loved (by that of a complete stranger who knows little to nothing) 🖤💔

Though it's so simple, "...my smile was taken long ago, if I can change I hope I never know" says funking volumes and can instantly take me back to the worst year of my life and how it still resonates to this day. Joey Jordison had this to say about this song: "Corey doesn't really write music for Slipknot - but, when he came over to hear the songs Paul [Gray, bassist] and I were working on for All Hope Is Gone, he showed me this… I had him lay a scratch track down in the studio. Then I went in late at night, without telling him, and laid down some drums… When he heard it the next day, he started crying. It's Corey's masterpiece." RIP Joey & Paul

This song brings me so much frustration and sadness. We don't value human relationships as we should, we seek refuge in marijuana, alcohol, drugs and meaningless sex. We are like bags of meat and bones, with no ambition to improve ourselfs and achieve something great. We just want to "get by", enjoy materialistic stuff and just make sure nothing breaks are routine, even though we scream outside how the routine is killing us from the inside.

This song is deep. Corey describes my feelings with his lyrics. I found this song after my ex left me for her ex. It's funny how someone can say they love you, and it's forever for them. All that changes when her ex comes into money. Suddenly, forever is out the window. There was a survey done recently that shows 70% of women today have a back up plan just incase things don't go their way. Whatever happened to wanting to be with someone because of love. Real love doesn't quit and move on to the next when things get hard. I want what my grandparents generation had. They stayed together through thick and thin. They put the work in. Anyways, beautiful song.

I’m so thankful that I found this song, I’ve been going through a really hard time in my life. My soul was crushed by the girl I fell head over of feet for just over three weeks ago. She broke me over text while I still hand strong feelings and I’ve felt like shit for a while. Every time I listen to this song I am reminded that I have the strength to move on and find my feet again. Thank you Slipknot!

The memory hurts. But this song helped me to see the bigger picture. Don´t ever be with someone who makes you feel like you are hard to love, guys. Know your worth and when someone hurts you, don´t lower yourself onto their levels, don´t plot revenge, don´t get angry. Stand tall, with your head high and leave. There are so many people hurting in here and all of them are sharing their stories or remembering someone they once loved a time long ago. I just want to tell you, that if you are currently going through a crisis, wether it may be a break-up, someone cheating on you, maybe a friend that betrayed you or even the death of a loved one...you´ll get over it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it´ll pass you by someday. Everyone has a hard time sometimes, but the good thing about bad times is, that they pass. Happier times WILL come, I can tell. Stay strong, my Dudes.

“you never needed any help, you sold me out to save yourself.” man, what a fucking line. gives me chills every time. if you’ve ever been in a relationship with somebody who only dated you to fill a void in their life, then you can totally relate to what he’s saying. someone who used you for their own personal gain, as their puppet… realizing that they never really cared for YOU. they never really wanted YOU.. they just wanted SOMEONE to make them feel alive… 10/10 song.

You should watch the clip about the making of this music video. Man Corey is amazing. He was actually channeling real pain when he made this. I almost couldn't watch when they filmed the glass breaking scene. It is really heartbreaking. To still have that much pain for the past even though he was with his future wife. He may cry sometimes, but he is definitely all man while doing it. I commend his bravery in allowing the fans to see real emotion. I wish I could feel things that deeply. I feel like an emotionless robot next to him, and that is something I am not proud of myself for. Can you get emotion back after stamping it down for decades? Or do you stay numb the rest of your life?

A few years ago I was beginning my freshman year of college. I was a dumb, ambitious young kid who had his first taste of freedom, but also had everything he wanted. I was in a relationship, had a great friend group, everything. To make a long story short, I got way too involved with campus clubs and ended up overloading my schedule. I lost my friend group because I wanted to spend time with my girlfriend. I was becoming more and more overwhelmed by the minute, trying to juggle my relationship, my classes, my club commitments, and work. Well, my girlfriend at the time ended up dumping me. My grades began to plummet and I was burning out fast. So, I decided to drop out. During that whole “downfall”, this song was on repeat in my headphones. I remember sitting in my dorm with the lights off in an emotional pit. I was a wreck. I ended dropping out of college cause it all got to be too much for me. I swore to never return to that particular college cause of all the emotions and memories that were attached to it. Fast forward to today. I’m back at the college I swore to never return to picking up where I left off. I’m older, I’m more mature, and I have a much better mindset. My class schedule is easier to juggle and I’m not involved in a lot of clubs. I come back to this song to remind myself of how far I’ve come and how much stronger I am now. Moral of the story: Don’t give up. Whatever is going on in your life will pass. You will be alright. You are not alone and you will never be alone. Keep fighting.

You might think there is nothing left to be loved. Maybe because you blame the life and all of it belongings or you might even be angry to yourself because the things that you couldn't do. But be sure about there is still something wothy to love , maybe something that is even so close to your fiance. I lost many things in past years. People, friends, my sanity and even became nearly fully disabled. And I learned something to do in this times. If you can (I don't recommend this because of the recent plague) go outside. No matter the weather is. Rainy, clear or even stormy. Get your eyes into the sky and tell yourself ''Isn't it beatiful''. You will agree because it is. See there is the most basic thing to see that there is something you like.

T.o.d.a.s as lagrimas serao enxugadas
