Keep up the great job! By removing the original gas tank and cutting out the spair tyre bay, it's possible to built a proper straight pipe! I have built some straight pipes for 850 and S70 .... I don't know about noise regulations in Your place, but that sound is horrible. One of the key things about the 850's is the epic sound of that straight, transversally placed 5 cylinder N/A engine. Good luck!

I forsee a set of Ferodo DS2500 track pads in your future. I wonder if there's some kind of euro site that distributes them and has a full replacement warranty. Jokes aside the 2500's are a really good track/autoX pad for the 850. Great initial bite, no overheating, and easy to modulate. The passive rear steer does help when competing at autoX speed as well. Been tracking mine for a while with those same coilovers too. (Wonder where I got them. lol) Mine are still the standard 4K rear 5K front so interested to see how your springrates work out. Mine already tripods regularly so cornering well.

Good move with the spring rates. My R has the standard rates, and the front is way too soft, I had to disconnect the front sway bar to make it handle corner transitions with some level of composure. For the 94 turbo I'm building I got 7k front and the rear is not customizable, (awd swap). Also I got the DS series dampers. We'll see how it drives, and then I'll tune the front spring rate if needed. Springs are cheap.

The sway bar we used is the factory Euro-spec FWD V70R rear sway. You can find it on our site here: www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-suspension-stabilizer-bar-c70-s70-v70-9191462

Project is coming along great guys, 2 questions though, can you still get the side skirts that were on the btcc car ? & and to make it look extra mean just for the hell of it are you going to put the 850 saloon btcc spec front bumper on which had the added lower defuser on it, that front end did make the saloon look so good. All the best Steve 2RacingUK 2RacingUK.com

Thanks, Steven! That 850 saloon btcc spec bumper has crossed our minds a few times, it would definitely be a cool addition! We'll have to look into the side skirts as well!

@@fcpeuro If you do go down that route let me know if you get stuck as that bottom part looks to be a add on to the standard bumper. There's a guy here in the UK making a replica of the Peugeot 405 1995 the red & white car somehow he's found those bottom parts so I could ask him where he got them for you 👍👍 Hes on Twitter

So you took NA engine for p2, subframe from c70 to put into a fwd 850? why not just get a c70 with the same engine and upgrade the suspension... or get a turbo engine so it can make power

The engine they used has built internals, it's not a basic stock engine. The BTCC car was NA by regulation so they're trying to stay true to form.

Ya'll have a missed opportunity to do a p2 Engine swap into an m4.4 car and to show what a low-budget car build could do. This is a bit out of reach for everyone to recreate if they wanted to.

  • @fcpeuro

This was a P2 engine swap, and we are running an M4.4 ecu. Most of this car was built with used parts from the junkyard from other Volvos along with factory and a few aftermarket parts that anyone can get off our shelves at FCP Euro. Of course, Turbo is the way to go when it comes to $$ per horsepower but we wanted to stay naturally aspirated to remain true to the BTCC car's roots as well as do something a bit different 😉

Super content. However, the difference between the music and voice is way too much. I'm frequently having to turn it down and up, which to say the least is an irritation. Regarding that delta link. I wouldn't even think of modifying it. Volvo would have spared no money investing in their R&D to ensure that such a system worked as intended prior to bringing it to market. If what they do is there, it's been done for a good reason. Their BTC Tom Walkinshaw tuned cars would have used it. Repair as necessary then leave well alone!
