SINGAPORE - Welcome to Singapore and today we’re going on an ultimate Singapore street food tour within the Chinatown Complex - which happens to be the biggest hawker centre in Singapore - to eat 5 of the best dishes!
Here’s the food I ate:
1. Fatty Ox HK Kitchen (goo.gl/maps/wRKwNDpx5RATae9S7) - This is something I was excited to try, since I love brisket egg noodles, Hong Kong style. The noodles were springy and tasty, and the beef and tendon was melt in your mouth tender. Price - S$4
2. Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken (goo.gl/maps/oyQcCEPXGpZfkb9N7) - Chinatown Complex in Singapore is famous for soya sauce braised chicken, and there are two especially famous places, Hawker Chan and Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken. I decided to go to the latter, and I was glad I did. The chicken was moist and silky all the way to the bone, and the soya sauce was delicious and comforting. I had the extra big plate with bean sprouts and silken tofu on the side. Price - S$6
3. Herbal Soup (goo.gl/maps/LZLaPnWusdN7PJBf7) - This was an unplanned dish of this Singapore food tour - herbal black chicken soup. I noticed it was very popular and I loved how they still cook in huge earthenware clay jars using charcoal and serve a variety of Chinese herbal soups. I ordered the black chicken herbal soup that was served with rice and tea on the side. I was delicious. Price - S$5.50
4. Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao (goo.gl/maps/4r6DKTpf3N4Cax1aA) - Next up on this street food tour in Singapore, Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao, without a doubt, one of the highlights for me. They made everything by hand. Their xiao long bao was excellent, their Sichuan spicy noodles were delicious and peanutty, but the best was their spicy wantons. Total price - S$17
Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck (goo.gl/maps/CXxN32xJvNnExF6eA) - While I was eating my dumplings, I met Melvin who owns Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck. His braised duck place is delicious.
5. Zhao Ji Claypot Rice (goo.gl/maps/s4p4WJ544m1dEq516) - Finally to end this Singapore street food tour, I had to try claypot rice. Zhao Ji Claypot Rice is run by Dung, who is an extremely friendly lady. She allowed me into the kitchen to see the process. She cooks within iron pans. I ordered the extra large $28 size, though there are smaller sizes as well. She was so cool to demonstrate the entire claypot rice cooking method, mixing in a bit of oil and dark soy sauce to serve. It was the best comfort food to end an amazing day. Price - S$28

Seriously. Not nice at all, their standard drop a lot and prices is expensive….
I ate at that Hawker center. OMG it was sooooo good. I literally had to go back to hotel to nap. It was soo humid & hot but the food & cleanliness of Singapore is top knotch. I strongly recommend everyone visit.
As a Singaporean who has not been back to Singapore in a long time, your recent videos of food back home hit the homesick vibe so much! Miss all the great food you're having!

Singapore is my #1 foodie city, so many cuisines & variations to try, so many hawker stalls spread out all over the city... Can't wait to return...

I am from Hong Kong and my mother-in-law is from Singapore. I love all the food in this video! I make the black chicken soup myself from time to time. Usually I just use the body part of the chicken to make the soup and save the chicken thighs and wings for steaming. I love the texture of black chickens. Very tasty and nutritious!

It's a love hate relationship with Mark! He keeps adding more places to my bucket list!
Singapore is my favorite food city in the world! I have been there many times, to that same food court, and, I am drooling. My fav is roasted duck and roasted pork. YUM YUM! Glad to see the food stalls are back up and going so well and FINALLY the Covid restrictions are lifted. My daughter will be there in 2 days. LUCKY HER! Please, visit Indonesia and Jakarta again.....they really would love to have more Foodies visit. I live in Jakarta and we welcome you! YES, you have to get there ASAP after they open...because once sold out, they close.

Do you honestly think Singaporean food is better than Malaysia's ?? I'm not trying to degrade your food but I was in SG for a week and I've tried your so called delicacies and its no where close to our standard . Aside from your chili crab and probably chicken rice, non of your food standard can match ours such as your Pan Mee, Mamak food, CKT , Hokkien mee and many more. You just can beat us when it comes to food .
Mark, You brought me back to one of my favorite places on Earth and introduced me and the rest of your audience to some of the kindest people. Thank you for a great experience once again.

The claypot Chicken rice with salted fish is just amazing. Yes, the skills she demonstrated is just another level. Cooking the rice from raw and to char but yet not burnt it. 🤤

Every year, before heading to Manila I always have a day or two stopover in Singapore just to eat. Laksa, lor mee, hokkien mee, char kway teo, tai hwa pork noodles, hainanese chicken, putu piring, and many many many many more! Best place in the world to eat! I’m coming back in November for more!

My suggestion, go little india in the morning. Soak in the color and vibrant of mini india and had lunch there. After that visit Arab street for the Muslim temple and nice Middle East food. Remember to try the monster milo drink that’s a soul drink for people who like sweet stuff. Night time travel to Joo Chiat and start from the beginning of the street to the end. You could stop at any one pub in the middle of the street. And travel to katong. Try the local laksa or nonya food.
16:57 That's my FAVOURITE place in Chinatown Complex, every time I'm home I have to get it! Happy to see you tried all my dishes from the stall too 😍 Love how the creaminess of the dan dan noodles contrasts with the tartness of the sichuan wantons, then top it off with the slight sweetness of the xiao long bao If you every go back, the guo tie (pot stickers) is really good as well, you can use it to soak up the sichuan wanton sauce
