Should you practice Print Pushing? (endmyopia)

Discord: / discord
TL;DR: No
Jake says: The “print pushing” thing doesn’t work for most people we’ve tried it with (and it was quite a few for a while there). Not to get to 20/20 anyway and keep it. Outliers may have success with it, but it’s definitely the hard way to do it, and it is rather quite ironic in not using distance vision to try to see better at a distance. The volume of e-mail we used to get complaining about how print pushing wasn’t working for people, was pretty annoying after a while.

NottNott, I am pleased you mentioned Todd Becker's success, with the use of a "plus lens", and "pushing", when he was at 20/50. As you said, wearing a plus (for near, to end all near stress) does work, but it is "boring". ( I got my sister's kids to do it. They "objected", but they kept their distant vision clear, for life. They said it was "boring", also. ) No dispute from me - you are right. Ultimately, Todd got his Snellen back to normal, and offered this recovery choice to his daughter. We need to work TOGETHER, on this common problem and goal.

Hi Nott Nott: All prevention work - is like that. I love your, "Thimble", analogy. It is quite honest! As Long-Term prevention, (with recovery proven on your Snellen) it is exactly like that. In fact all recovery (pass the DMV) requires your life time devotion by your own "method". I wear a plus, and "push print", (when at 20/50) because my "Engineering nature", tells me that I must do it, and that I have no other choice, in science.

hi, i am new to myopia. I have -3.00 both eyes. I havent visit my doctor for about 2 months so, im not sure if it improved or my eyes is worse than my old vision. (the print pushing and active focus) I dont know if i can still fix my eye vision, im fully regretting it because i made my eye worse because of my own stupidity. I started going outside but whenever i go outside its making me remember that my vision isnt good but the reason im going outside is to improve my eyesight. Have hope everyone! I’m sure we can all fix our vision! I suggest to read a book about the eye so you'll know what to do to fix your vision. Try doing Print Pushing 15 minutes or less everyday. In 1 month and 1 weeks, Try visiting your doctor to see if your eyesight improved!

You don't have to print push to improve using plus; after you get to low myopia, drop minus and use plus for all close-ups. That's all you need. If all you do, is look far away without glasses or look close using a plus lens, your eyes are going to improve.

  • @otiebrown9999

Eric, That is the intent. If you are -1 Diopters , and confirm 20/60, you can SKIP THE MINUS. Then wearing a plus LONG TERM, can get you to 20/40. Then no minus at all. Then continue to 20/30 to 20/15, where I am now

Hi NottNott, 0:12 "But why??" This is perhaps the most accurate description, of: 1) Using a +2.0 Diopter, for ALL READING, after you have confirmed 20/50, or better, on your home Snellen! 2) Again, since your vision is "pretty good", you will question WHY, must read through the plus lens, and also, "push print", to find the "just barely blur", point. 3) In fact there is no "blur", once you understand the concept of "living outdoors", most of the time, by using the plus in this wise manner. 4) Properly undrestood, it is indeed very comfortable, logical, and wise. 5) I also asked the question, "but WHY". 6) This is indeed about life-time prevention, which few people are going to "like". 7) You do this, whenever you are "down to", 20/40, and slowly you get back to 20/20. Yes, it does take a year, to get that +1 Diopter change. But, it is worth it, to me! As always, I am a total supporter of Jake and you, as the only "right answer", for 90% of us. This is undeed restricted to that, "last diopter". I now have, "glorious distant vision". For me, wearing the plus is indeed "worth it". I am never a critic of you or Jake. But I do see successful prevention, differently, than you do.
