Can You Fix Astigmatism Naturally? How I Did It!

One day I woke up seeing more clearly than before and I asked myself, "Can you improve eyesight naturally?" It was that question that started me on my journey of natural vision improvement. When I started, my Left Eye was -5.00 with -1 for astigmatism correction, 80 degree axis and my Right Eye was -4.00. I initially started with the Bates Method and then learned about active focus and reduced lenses. After a couple months of trying things, I got my first clear flash and without glasses! I was seeing perfectly clearly for a few seconds. This changed the way I looked at vision restoration, and it's when my journey truly began.
I'm now seeing perfect clear 90-95% of the time.
Optometrist confirmation will be coming soon!
This KZread channel is about how I improved my nearsighted vision (myopia) naturally without surgery. I found that relaxation and habit changes, not eye exercises, lead to better vision.

I have zero eye problems, unlike most of my peers, yet I watch your videos out of curiosity. Your videos have explained why I do. Every method to improve vision you recommend are things I already do automatically. I think a big one is I've been a runner for years now, and while I'm running, I'm naturally doing all the methods as I view and interact with my environment. I think it's no coincidence we've seen a huge uptick in eye problems in the era of people staying indoors looking at screens with their neck tilted to do so, or that the people with the stereotypically bad eyes in other ages were the nerds who stayed indoors reading books, often by candlelight if they could afford it, while I've always preferred to read outside or in a south facing window.

Thank you so much for this comment and confirming what I've been learning and to undo over the past few years. I've had long talks with several people that have good vision and after talking with them, I realized and can now see how I've just done things wrong for many years. The amazing thing is that it can be undone, but it does take time a patience which is what many people don't have. There's big difference in how people who wear glasses or contacts move and interact with their environment and I see it all the time now. I hope to help the few people who want to make a change, not just in their eyes, but in their lives!

Over the last few years I started developing severe astigmatism. I watched this video and correlated your violin/eye positioning with the countless hours I've been messing on my phone while side-laying on my bed, supporting my head with a hand on my cheek, with no regard to good device/eye-alignment. Now lately I've been just slightly crossing my eyes often while in this position to try to ensure I'm having linear left/right eye movement. The two images I will see when slightly crossing my eyes will not deviate from linear alignment if my eyes and phone are in a good position. I've been doing this for many weeks now and have already noticed significant improvement and I can't thank you enough for this information that I probably would've never heard anywhere, otherwise. 😊

I noticed that in the weeks when I do not use my PC as much and spend more time outside the astigmatism seems to improve greatly so habits must have some correlation to it! thanks for sharing!

Amazing content, Mark! I'm still getting used to all the 'you crazy?' stares that people give me whenever I tell them that I only need glasses inside (to see the monitor), but can see almost perfectly outside without them. It's really as simple as listening to what my body is telling me and avoiding anything that strains my eyes. My family almost got used to the 'zombie' stare I use to get rid of all tension. Your videos were tremendously helpful for me to get into this 'ease' mentality. Whenever I need a clear flash, I just imagine myself as a newborn child who just discovered his ability to see and then try to use my eyes as this child would. This effortlessness oriented mentality even helps in restoring my sense of smell after losing it to corona! I'm almost done with my studies and will have about 2-3 months of free time to invest into learning how to properly use my eyes (and body!). I understand it's the journey that matters, but still can't wait to get from 'occasional clear flashes after calming down' stage to 'consistent and effortless good vision', especially given my low myopia of -2.25. Thank you for what you're doing for the eyes of the world!

@@MyopiaIsMental Absolutely! I hate the fact that so many people have to suffer and go blind from myopia complications like detachment or glaucoma. And it utterly disgusts me that the only reason for this is that most eye-care institutions are only thinking about making money by selling crutches instead of actually helping people use their eyes. I do feel that glasses, contacts and LASIKs lead to so much blindness and suffering they must be banned or at least used when no other option is available. Sorry about being so emotional about this, it's just that even some people I personally know have lost their vision after believing optometrists and simply increasing the prescriptions all the way until their eyes gave up. I do wish that such unethical practices go extinct so that all the money in the industry could go to someone like you who is actually helping people see. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you reach more people or leave some testimonial so that more people believe you. I'd be honored to do what I can to help more people discover you and potentially avoid the inevitable pains of conventional optometry approach. You're a real hero to me, Mark!

I like you felt that stigmatism is symptom of a cause not just something that just happens for no reason. They are still teaching doctors that the only cure for it is expensive glasses (which I refused to buy I went online and found some for 80% cheaper being that it's only plastic with an expensive lens so why pay for plastic lenses that cost pennies to make and someone's name on it). I believed that this could be reversed with time and Voila!...... here you are!! Thank you Mark Warren. Everything you said makes 100% total sense.

Esther Gokhale, upon visiting rural African sites, to study their posture and movement patterns, noticed that they looked a lot more to the sides with *only their eyes*, and yes they were rural African individuals with perfect vision so they were clearly doing something right. She made the observation and suggested that perhaps they had better eye function due to more frequently stretching their eye's range of motion. Either way quite interesting and somewhat in contrast with what you're saying in the video.

Thank you so much for everything you are doing!! Cheers from Chile!

  • @Bernardo-mt8ho

    @Bernardo-mt8ho

I am not Mark ,but there is a mathmatical stuff to calculate astigmatism. You cut it in a half and turn it into myopia. Half of -1.25 is something around 0.50 or 0.75. Adding 0.50 or 0.75 on your myopic 0.75 you will have 1.25 or 2.0 diopters of myopia. But after reading a lot, I found that astigmatism is also a byproduct of the eye shifting itself. For example you could be going at a positive state depending on your age. On a hypothetical scenario, you could be at +0.25 or +0.50 in one or both eyes. Since you are interested in vision improvement is a signal that is possible that you are noticing slightly changes in your lifestyle, so it could be that your eyes are trying to heal itself.

Hi Mark, really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Just finished your first guide and starting to implement the peripheral vision habits. I do have a question on not moving the eyes separately from the head to not strain the extraocular muscles for myopia or astigmatism. Part of it makes sense, but I do wonder, since I was always told doing these eye yoga exercises which consist on covering your eyes with your hands and moving your eyes side to side, up and down, diagonal and then in circles; would work to solve myopia. It seems like the opposite approach of what you (and maybe Bates method) says? But I wonder if this movement compensates our eye muscles and eye ball by moving in all directions, whereas in normal life we may look downwards a lot but rarely upwards, etc. There must be some explanation.. I also know if our biology is such that we can move our eyes independently from our head it shouldn't be a bad thing... I'd love to know your take on this! Thank you in advance! :)

Another nice video Mark, thank you. Sometimes my Eyes see better now when I feel relaxation/tension only below the cheeks without eyes hurting/tearing at all. That felt so strange. I don't think I got that once in first weeks practicing. To this topic: My cylinder was over 30 years only 0.25 mostly 0. I still get often double vision when practicing with relaxation and stinging. I think that's normal. When I see doubled picture it helps me to peripheral vision to the side where the fake picture is. After some seconds it's just pretty sharp or switches to other side. Then again. I hope that stops when eyes are fully relaxed but that needs more practice.

Hey Mark. Sorry, I am not sure anymore if that double vision stuff is related to peripheric vision. I was trying to be more cautious about it and It goes sometimes not away till I blink and relax. Right now I mostly have no double vision and even distant lights look a lot less bright and more on one place. It is my 11th week now. I even did the basic curse on your website. When is your next video? It's so boring to just do this stuff alone. It would be great to hear more about your success and current eye strain situation. My eyes still feel stressed all the time. Vision keeps slowly getting better. It gets easier to see sharper but pc work is still getting me tired a lot easier than with glasses even tough the screen looks now sharp nearly all the time. If I relax eyes right before closing eyes for sleeping helps to see more sharp the whole next day. I wondered why you didn't mention that in your basic course. I don't think I'm mistaken here and I am trying to do it more regularly. But sometimes I just fall asleep during movies because I'm so tired.

My older sister had glasses when she was 30 years old from working all day in front of computer. Since last year I started practicing natural vision improvement I shared Mark's techniques with her as well as my own techniques/experiences with her She said she didn't apply the techniques constantly. But weeks later she started saying "I'm getting scared, my glasses are getting worse, I don't wanna practice anymore!!". I continued to share the techniques. Last month she went to the ophthalmologist and found that the "worsening" of the glasses was actually an improvement. She wore -1.75 and dropped to -1.25 both eyes. This is an interesting fact, many people in the comments complain that they feel their vision "worsened" when wearing glasses, but the worsening could mean that the glasses are just strong. (The ophthalmologist insisted that the "improvement" was due to presbyopia my sister is 38 years old, my parents started having presbyopia only after the age of 55. Also young people improve their vision without having presbyopia, I believe the doctors really want to force theory over reality)

  • @MyopiaIsMental

This is amazing and yet disappointing at the same time. Amazing by the fact that your sister didn't even do regular practice of the techniques, improved her vision by .50 diopters. However, it's quite disappointing to hear that it was dismissed as being early presbyopia! This is the part that I hate about doctors: They don't listen. I said this in another comment on my other channel, but I went to two optometrists and one wanted to give me a higher prescription and bifocals and the other said it wasn't possible. I also reached out to a well known university in my area to explain what I was able to do. I still have the email chain with the director of the ophthalmology program, and he thought that I was having blur adaptation and recommended that I see my optometrist or ophthalmologist. When doctors don't listen to their patients or people that have been able to achieve amazing things, it makes it hard to trust any of them. They try to make you seem like you're the crazy one because they supposedly know so much. I now know they don't know everything. Personally I look for more doctors that are researchers and don't deal patients. Their information in published articles is fascinating and confirms much of what I learned on my own. You'll never see this research mainstream because the eye industry doesn't really care. By all means I'm not saying doctors aren't need at all but I question many of the practices a lot more these days.

@@MyopiaIsMental Yes, it's great that she could improve so fast, I remember told her to not wear her glasses full time (Bates talked about glasses keeps the eyeball in a perpetual state, and eyeballs are dynamic). but when she felt her glasses "worsen" she started wearing them all the time til she knew that her eyesight improved and I believe doctor said to wear them the whole day and so on. I was reading comments here and there, one of those is really interesting, since medical society says medicine is based on "science": "If these out-of-date beliefs are to be called myths, then myths can be produced by the same sorts of methods and held for the same sorts of reasons that now lead to scientific knowledge." (Thomas S. Kuhn, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.) Many doctors say they choose this profession because they love taking care of people. But when a person takes care of himself they deny and invalidate that person's life experience. So they start talking about statistics. Actually they love numbers, should change profession, maybe math teacher lol The weirdest fact is, doctors treat myopia as a disease when even the medical society emphasizes it's just a functional problem. And many optometrists and ophtamologists disagree with each other, generate different prescriptions for the same patient, some believe that vision can improve, others think it can't. The reality is that the field of visual medicine is still a completely experimental field.

I feel that the eyes are just mirrors, once the light is received, they begin to pass on that light wherever you look. For example, I was trying to perceive things from about 100 meters away so I looked for the reflection of light on the metallic surface of a nearby roof, then blinked, looked at the glow of sunlight on a car and then everything was totally Crystal Clear . At another point, I observed the glow of the leaves on the trees, then I saw the reflection of light in a wave in the sea and then I looked at the shine of my watch and everything remained Crystal Clear. I believe that when the eyes receive light immediately they look for things that can pass on that light to create a virtuous and continuous cycle. And that things that before had little shine, immediately start to shine a lot. When we try to focus too much on the brightness of something trying to see it, we "destroy" this perpetual cycle of light. Because we change the natural shape of the eyes. Myopes developed strategies to avoid those things. Children's eyes, they shine all the time, except when they are frightened / thoughtful / sad. A child's eyes look like they are just a painting on his face, and when we are in this virtuous cycle of passing on the light, our eyes are also small. And we can look into other people's eyes as a way of absorbing light, since the eyes are also light transmitters The reality shines a lot when we are looking 20/20 and beyond. And it feels wonderful to feel safe and comfortable.

@K-pop Idols My eyes/mind used to hurt too. As I said in a comment in another video, I started to practice with the mirror reflection. It has been said that mirrors are capable of reflecting up to 85% of the light they receive, this is enough to start practicing without feeling discomfort. With the mirror I don't usually noting myself in it, I use it to identify light, motion and objects that emanate light. After feeling comfortable with the "85%" of light that the mirror reflects, we can look at the blue sky without feeling pain and we can also seek for glow/shine/reflection of light on other surfaces such as tree leaves, metal structure , jewelry, puddles of water and so on. My last new "invention" was to buy laminated/metallic tape and paste in certain areas of the walls and doors, reflecting more light for me to recognize and get used to and practice. It is possible to add old CDs and DVDs that no longer work in strategic places where there is an incidence of light. You can also use food packages, inside they are laminated/metallic. A curious fact, many people hang DVD/CD on wires on the roof in order to keep pigeons out of their houses, one day I was waiting for the rain stops and in front of the place I was there was a house with several of these CD / DVDs probably to scare pigeons, while waiting for the rain to stop I looked at these CD/ DVD and my vision remained totally clear for all distances (even on a cloudy and rainy day). My house faces west, sunlight only reaches after 2PM, so it is important to find ways to light the entire house. Many people live inside their homes and work all day with poor lighting. When placing objects that shine around the house (watches, rings, necklaces, metallic things, crystals) we also practice shifting because we first need to seek for the light / shine, then the mind recognizes the size, shape, concepts, symbols, distance, sharpness, color by itself.
