Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-IX) | Pink Floyd

Музыка

More people liked my last edit, some I'm back for another one. This time I've combined all 9 parts of shine on you crazy diamond. This is how it should've been on the album, but sadly it wasn't.
Songs Used: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (I-V) & Shine On You Crazy Diamond (VI-IX) by Pink Floyd.

TLDR: KZread automatically added ads to this video. I do not want any ads on my videos. Completely unrelated, ad block programs exist and are easily accessible. For anyone who has been shown an ad on this video, I did not choose to put ads on this video, KZread automatically added them. My channel is not monetized, so I do not have the option to enable ads on my videos, or receive any money from them. I want people to be able to listen to my edits without any interruption, and I do not want to earn any money off of Pink Floyd's hard work. I apologize for anyone who has had their listening experience ruined by an ad, it unfortunately seems like it is out of my control. On an unrelated note, there are many methods to block unwanted ads while browsing the internet. Ad Blockers are programs that detect and hide advertisement content. These programs can be installed in seconds on a desktop browser, and they exist to varying degrees on other devices. For instance, if you were to download one of these programs and watch a KZread video that normally has ads, you would be able to watch that video without ads. Once again, this has absolutely no relation to KZread automatically adding ads to this video. Any connection you can draw is purely coincidental. :)

First in 1976 (when I was 15) I heard a few sequences from 'Shine on...' as background music in various television films without knowing who the piece was by. At some point I heard 'Have a cigar' on the radio. And the moderator mentioned the band name! Then immediately went to the record store, bought the record, put it on and from then on the world looked different...

8:38 and 17:40 : lyrics ☟ (8:38) Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond! Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond! You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom, Blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond! Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed to the light. Shine on you crazy diamond! Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, Rode on the steel breeze. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine! (17:40) Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far. Shine in you crazy diamond! Pile on many more layers, and i'll be joining you there. Shine on you crazy diamond! And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, Sail on the steel breeze. Come on you poor child, you winner and loser, Come on you miner of truth and delusion. And shine! RIP: 𝕤𝕪𝕕 𝔹𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕥𝕥 ✮

This is the reason to give Caesar what's his. I mean - thinking about those who try to knock down Pink Floyd technical ability and even wanting to make useless comparisons with bands who could be reasonably way more technically able...there's some music that simply has got some "soulful meaning" more than other music. And that's the case. It goes back to the spine, down the spine, right into spirit core. Thank you Pink Floyd - thank you Doors, thank you Genesis, Thank you Death, thanks to all those band who rip the soul of the universe apart to let us see it.

Full Lyrics & Timestamps: [Part I. (0:00-3:53)] (Instrumental) [Part II. (3:53-6:26)] (Instrumental) [Part III. (6:26-8:40)] (Instrumental) [Part IV. (8:40-11:08)] [Verse 1: Roger Waters] Remember when you were young You shone like the Sun [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shine on, you crazy diamond [Verse 2: Roger Waters] Now there's a look in your eyes Like black holes in the sky [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shine on, you crazy diamond [Chorus 1: Roger Waters] You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom Blown on the steel breeze Come on, you target for faraway laughter Come on, you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine [Verse 3: Roger Waters] You reached for the secret too soon You cried for the Moon [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shine on, you crazy diamond [Verse 4: Roger Waters] Threatenеd by shadows at night And exposed in the light [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shinе on (Shine on), you crazy diamond (You crazy diamond) [Chorus 2: Roger Waters] Well, you wore out your welcome with random precision Rode on the steel breeze Come on, you raver, you seer of visions Come on, you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine [Part V. (11:08-13:18)] (Instrumental) [Part VI. (13:18 - 18:01)] (Instrumental) [Part VII. 18:01 - 19:30)] [Verse 5: Roger Waters] Nobody knows where you are How near or how far [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shine on you crazy diamond [Verse 6: Roger Waters] Pile on many more layers And I'll be joining you there [Refrain: Roger Waters & David Gilmour] Shine on you crazy diamond [Chorus 3: Roger Waters] And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph And sail on the steel breeze Come on, you boy child, you winner and loser Come on, you miner for truth and delusion, and shine! [Part VIII. (19:30 - 22:00)] (Instrumental) [Part IX. (22:00 - 25:30)] (Instrumental)

I bought this album sometime in my sophomore or junior high school year in the late 70s when it came out. I overheard some of the stoner "cool kids" talking about it in the lunchroom. It blew my mind away. Before that, I was only familiar with pop music. Talk about sychroncity.
