For me - even after 47 years (I was 17) - it is still fascinating and incomprehensible how one can make such music. Incredibly good!
Only problem with Echoes is once you start to listen you cannot stop, so everything you planned to will be delayed 23 minutes and 36 seconds.. But it will always be totally worth it.

I'm 23 and I love Pink Floyd and many of my friends in my age or even younger do as well. Never let this music die.
Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance, two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can? And no one calls us to move on And no one forces down our eyes No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Cloudless everyday You fall upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me to rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabies And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky

I just saw a kid and a high schooler stalking a house and the high schooler argued with another one and the kid just got stabbed by an yellow "GOLDEN MYSTERIOUS"arrow but luckily his partner healed him especially hhis rival who he just fought and now theyre entering the house
I have always seen this song as being about going through something difficult and then emerging as a better version of yourself. The song establishes a melody and it then goes into the dark, chaotic phase. Then the melody emerges stronger than it was before that interlude.

The best one!
memories of summer days ,window open warm breeze birds singing drifting away in my mind to beautifull peacefull places, 15 years old when a friend lent me this record ,still makes me smile and feel blessed with such happy days ,that year 1972 ,my friend got tickets for floyd at the empire pool in october ,the concert was amazing ,what i can remember ,lol, bootleg recordings from the gig,i have heard since didnt realise i heard the complete dark side of the moon live before its 1973 release x😂
20:23 This song was released in 1971. That is 55 years ago today. And i don’t think that any song that has ever been released since then can match up with the pure EPICNESS of this climax. It makes me feel like i’m ascending into a different reality.
doctor: "you have 20 minutes left to live" person: "can you put on Echoes by Pink Floyd" doctor: "sir that song is 23 minutes long" God: "i'll allow it"

Time don't matter. The soul was hearing it the whole time. Not the body
Now this song is the absolute goat of Meddle... After Seamus of course 😂
