I like that although Shakira was speaking spanish, she also took time to rep her Arab heritage with the belly dancing and middle eastern music halfway through 🥺🥺 (2:53) she represents both, Colombians and Lebanese (or any other arab) people very well which is a breath of fresh air considering we rarely get proper representation

Pero ella no solo lo hace por la cultura africana, aquí en Colombia, exactamente en Barranquilla de donde es ella, la champeta es un baile típico, y una de sus bailarinas es barranquillera y fue quien armó la coreografía.

@@kiilianable yo estoy entendiendo bien, solo digo que en Barranquilla de donde es ella también la bailan, es uno de sus bailes típicos, yo se que en Colombia tenemos herencia africana y la champeta originalmente es de allá. Simplemente dije que Shakira no lo bailo por la cultura africana, si no para de algún modo representar a Colombia, al igual que lo hizo cuando bailo el mapale o salsa (y la salsa no es original de colombia pero de algún modo represento la cultura caleña y más porque los bailarines que estuvieron con ella en esa parte son bailarines de salsa caleños).

Plenty of the latino culture and language comes from arabs too, which is interesting considering she’s colombian and lebanese. She’s always stuck to both sides of her roots which are extremely similar and I respect her so much for repping colombian and lebanese people so well, and equally in her performances! ❤️

The best half time show ever, and i mean ever. Thank you Jennifer Lopez for representing your Puerto Rican culture so well. Thank you Shakira for also representing your Colombian culture so well. Long live the Latino culture. This half time show represented not only the Latino culture but also the African and Arabic cultures. No other half time show had ever done that. Latinos do it best. We are inclusive. For those who don't know, Puerto Ricans are born American citizens. If you are born in Puerto Rico you are automatically an American citizen. It's like being born here in the USA.

They were criticizing when JLo yelled out Latinos with the Puerto Rico flag behind her. Puertoricans are US citizens but they are still Latino plus all the other Latinos that now identify as latino Americans.Latinos are more diverse than America we have all kinds of culture . People just dont understand that the Latino culture has ALWAYS been a part of America we were just never recognized much cuz we are told this isnt your country and you cant speak spanish. I also believe Latinos have the ability to bring all races together due to our ethnicities because Latinos are all races we come in many colors.

I'm 3 years late to this reaction video but I absolutely love the joy you guys present when watching and dancing along, this is how I feel watching this superbowl halftime show, it's my absolute favourite!! The dancing and singing is just so on point ❤

Her reactions are so joyous and full of energy, they left me fascinated by the joy that overflows.

Shakira is more versatile, in a few minutes I show all her power, I sing in Spanish, English, I dance seven rhythms, I play the guitar drums, I sing pop, rock did different dances and choreographies I showed that she is a great dancer, definitely the queen a music

Shakira is not more versatile she is different. Her singing abilities are not that great neither her drums and guitar playing. What makes Shakira stand out is her dancing abilities. And that's exactly what makes JLo great too. Both are great dancers/entertainers, not great singers or musicians. JLo is an urban Newyorican girl turned into a Diva, larger than live while Shakira is humble to the core girl next door with a Colombian/Lebanese background turned into a musical globe trotter. Both great in their own right and they are using their own cultural backgrounds as the bases for their artistic expressions. And that's difference is precisely what makes this Halftime show so culturally diverse and awesome. They complemented each other very well. So well that you need both of their presentations to truly appreciate the whole show. This event ended up being bigger and larger than them.

Hips don't lie, Loca, la bicicleta, Waka waka are a couple of good examples of stealing music from others. She isn't a great instrumentalist, she strums a couple of chords always with a capo on (not a sign of a great guitarist) and plays a basic drum beat to wow her fans into believing she is all that. But those who can really play those instruments know she is a mediocre drummer and guitar player at best. JLo doesn't play any instrument but at least she's not presenting to do so to fool her fans. Do you know who also doesn't play an instrument? Beyoncé. Who else? Christina Aguilera and Ashanti and so many others. Playing an instrument is not the only way to demonstrate you have talent. You can dance your ass off as Shakira or JLo did. You really are ignorant. So do yourself a favor and go wash your nasty stinky ass 'cause you are full of shit.

Cynthia Fox ..... They were both great, JLO was awesome too, Gaga, Beyoncé and Madonna were very sexy too, not slutty. Loved every second and the Salsa dancing of JLO at the end was epic.

As Colombian-Lebanese I feel so much represented by Shakira, she's the best!

@SergeR Digo que es 100% colombiana no por su descendencia y demás, lo digo porque primero fue la primera nacionalidad que tuvo por nacer aquí (la libanesa no la tiene) y porque es orgullo autóctono y muestra siempre la cultura colombiana, porque si vamos hablar de eso, tocaría nombrar, estados unidos (dónde nació el padre) que a la vez el es de raíces libanesas (también por su padres), la madre de Shakira es colombiana pero descendiente de un Español.

She was "espectacular" but JLo show was a lot more difficult to perform as a dancer, the best production without a doubt. They were equaly fantastic. Two Divas together. Great show.
