I’ve deployed twice in support of ODA’s in both Afghanistan and Syria and it blows my mind how similar all their kits are. I hung out with the D’s a bunch my first deployment and learned as much as I could from them and my 2nd tour they essentially were running their kit very similarly to me. Just really goes to show how good their training is because they carry the minimum for such a wide mission set from partner force training to DA in any environment. Truly professionals.

Unless they had that slide milled special (not unlikely) or run adapter plates (why would you), not hard to figure out. I'm not saying it is the Romeo 2 from Sig, but working in a gun store and handling it (also owning the optic), that would be my choice for a 320. Direct mount to a 320, no special tools (ie flat head) to change battery, comon 2032 coin battery, and run open or enclosed.

I remember maybe 8 or 9 years ago when my cousin got back from working in Africa as a GB just before he went with the 3 letter guys. He had his "dumbed down" kit he had to carry with him in case he got a call, basically just a Spiritus with enough stuff to fall out the back of a truck and still be effective, his Ops Core and his "non service" rifle . It would be a pretty simple and standard set up nowadays, but back then it was the most high speed shit I'd ever seen. He told me that it was the gear he was cleared to carry during off hours because his duty gear had sensitive equipment that would usually be waiting for him on whatever plane they would send if he had to go to work. Most of the kit he had wouldn't be seen by the civilian market for quite a while, now every guntuber and IG cool guy has it. I can't imagine the type of shit he's got now..

Even back in the day he wasn't allowed to show me what plates he was using in his carrier, just that they were "equivalent to level IV+".. I work for a Sig Defense Dealer and got a preview of it when I was at Sig factory in November. It’s proprietary to the M17/M18, currently fielded by some tier one units, other units are seeing it and asking how they can get Glock’s modified to accept it.

11B in the house. Alot of the standard issue/ deployment issue pouches are crap. Some still have metal snap buttons on them LMAO. in my unit the command team was ok with us buying 3rd party pouches and pouches only when it came to the chest rig ( shows you how archaic the conventional military is ). I deployed to Iraq with the high speed taco mag pouches which turned out to be trash when getting in and out of Maxxpro's and MATV's, fucking mags falling out everywhere. I ended up selling them to a cherry in my platoon for half of what i paid cause he liked the way the looked. I reverted back to the issued two mag holsters with velcro flap( they we're not sexy but they did the job very well). Because of my units constant mission tasking by SOF elements to westpoint pog convoy security my kit was CONSTANTLY changing. Some days i would have 3 2x mag pouches a gp pouch for night vision and another gp pouch for random shit like multi tool, rip it's and chem lights. The next day i would have a slick plate carrier, tactical tailor belt for 40mm's and be assigned to the AT4, Carl G, 240, 320, or 50 ( think of it like a guy camping the loadout drop in call of duty warzone but instead the load drop is a burning hot gun truck sitting like a duck while IDF is pounding the area around it ( serious pucker factor). From my time in the infantry in training in garrison to deploying to the battle of mosul, i can say the best kit is two parts- slick plate carrier and chest rig that has everything you will need on it with extra room for other shit you will pick up along the way. The reason two parts is useful is because sometimes you won't need all that equipment, just a few mags and a weapon, so it's best to not let it weigh you down for no reason. As the saying goes in the Infantry; "ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain.

Interesting. I always liked to use the button on the laser but didnt use it enough. Ultimately I ran it closer to the red dot to even out the weight. I guess if you are spending this much time over duel tube NODs it makes sense to move your BUIS back behind the laser. Then if it has a visible option just switch to the laser instead of the last ditch BUIS. I am also a big fan of keeping the pistol side free to be able to do a draw. Running things slick is good too I just question the phone storage situation. Hopefully this is not during a active mission.

SOCOM letting the surfer dudes in i love it. For anyone of you who didnt notice his lower receiver. Its obvious issued or soemthing. I think he has been swapping iut a bunch of other little pieces here and there so to the guy saying he is new. Atleast to building a kit it doesnt seem so.

It’s rather amusing for sure best believe they will come to a screeching halt scrolling the feed when they see an SF guy running a Holosun optic to depend their life on lol. I never question our SF guys it’s a real privilege to me to be able to just listen and soak up tips and tricks their allowed to share to us civilians. Hope to see more and more SF guys do these types of videos I’ve learned some very impressive and helpful knowledge listening to guys from different units.

Was that a Bucky's patch? If so, I only know of one ODA that actually was given the go ahead by Bucky's to use it as their team emblem or you're like me and from the great country of Texas. Love the belt set up, I'm a former Echo now a breacher on a SWAT team, guessing you are a chuck. Anyways, "De Oppresso Liber" brother.

best thing ive learned, especially from the guys who do it for real is that less is more. Carrying unnecessary amounts of stuff for flash and looks isnt effective for training or for go time.

My two cents is that I would be careful over learning these lessons from a civilian or minuteman prospective. These guys have air assets for infil and exfil, they have blocking forces, QRF, etc. They also have a huge logistics network supporting them. Their missions are also clearly defined so they can keep it simple. When you have these support assets, running 3 mags and having a less is more mentality makes sense. From a civilian prospective in almost any scenario, you never know who you might be going up against or what the mission could be. You’re infil and exfil might be rucking on foot and you are your own logistics network. Therefore I personally wouldn’t practice or expect to fight with a loadout like this.
