I carried a tomahawk in 2006ish, mostly to intimidate Iraqi’s, and someone complained. . Colonel told me I couldn’t carry my tomahawk, but then I told him it was an “extrication tool” to open windows for guys trapped in armored vehicles after an IED and then it was approved.

Side plates, right on! I had a friend took a trans-pelvic shot, actually above the pelvic girdle went right through left to right--if he had kept his side plates on he would have been spared a ton of surgery and months of grief. Haven't talked to him in years but I'm sure he'd be first to say" SIDE PLATES, DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THEM.
The longer videos are brilliant, please put out more content like this
Boy, I enjoyed every minute of this video. He broke down his equipment and the purpose of it. Awesom content.
I'm Australian so I don't generally watch these types of uploads but, DAMN, you're the real deal!! Total respect man.
Its really cool getting more input on actual practical uses of gear from people who have used it in the field, instead "I have this for if this happens but I have never actually used it"
There's tons of guys doing videos on kit... this channel has a totally different vibe. Legit. Well done sir. I'm definitely subscribing to this channel.
Thanks for the breakdown of your kit, and for clarifying from the get go that it’s always subject to change for each mission/scenario. That probably can’t be stressed enough.
Great video. Nice to see equipment actually used, vs straight out of a box. Thanks for sharing your set up.
Totally agree on use of that BUMP helmets.. I used 2 for boat-ops when pacing and lifted out of the water while keeping speed, and when doing our parachute jumps. When you are going to a unfriendly environment, you really wants some protection.

Always cracked me up how we would have our kit set up and then they would bring a bag of “force multiplier gear” that we needed to carry with us on ops that would fuck the whole thing up. Love seeing a combat kit and not another basement setup👌🏻
16:30 love my Spiritus side armor bags. The offset molle is a stroke of genius, and highlights why end-users should always be included in the design process. I have a JPC 2.0 with MOS Tactical cummerbund with First Spear tubes system, and I have perfect butting of side plates to front plate without interference of dawning & doffing. They shipped fast too! Highly recommend them!👌
probably the best most thought out setup ive seen on youtube. loved this one and the way he explained everything. sick asf!
“Perforating humans” was my favorite phrase 😆
This video has legitimately opened up accessibility and true purpose for those guys we take for granted. You guys have done a great job having Fred present all of this! Earned my Sub! Fred, great job and I also believe in side plates! Thanks for being that bump in the night to keep the bad guys away.
You’re a very wise soul! Love the video, very detailed 😊
Best video yet need more like this.
The key reason why I watch these videos is to get different ideas and see different opinions and preferences of kit. What I run is what I run, but I’m no smooth operator. If there’s a different way to run my stuff that ends up being better than what I had before, I see that as a win.
I was gifted a tomahawk by some rangers needing to dispose of a pallet or so. Never actually thought about carrying it on my kit until seeing this and reading some of the comments. It’d be an amazing extrication tool as a medic.
Not only the gear is all well thought, the humor is sharp as well 😂
Awesome breakdown
I've rewatched this video so many times...
Great set-up. Lots of information I never knew.
The magnet mount for your shotgun had me thinking of 40k maglocks, really cool idea and utilization.
I learned alot from this and got many more thoughts that id never had about my gear from this video very helpful and much appreciated
I would totally love to see a video of you wearing that belt and utilize the tomahawk!! Super rad
Plate carrier is not boring. Really intricate and purpose driven.

Awesome, thank you for those nuggets! Maybe „Recce Rifle Setup“ next ;) ? Appreciate your guys‘s effort!
This was amazing! Thank you for the explanations.
Thanks for this professional point of view. 🤜🤛
This is my favorite video! I watch it evertime I see it. Wish I was a badass!!!!
Good explanation of why as to carrying a handgun. It’s not just a backup. It has its own use cases that make it superior to a rifle/carbine. Great vid overall, thanks.
It's cool seeing guys like this, often team guys and special operations guys are very smart operationally and good with guns but it's very rare to find the guys who are also super serious about every single piece of equipment they carry. It's great seeing a guy who clearly cares about his kit and doesn't just carry what he's issued. You can tell everything has a purpose amd nothing is there that doesn't belong.
We need a video for a designated medical loadout. That a Corpsman or medic would rock
I’ve seen a lot of “setups” on KZread of special forces guys but nothing as real as this -“pens” kids really loves pens, or marking foreheads, or that blindfold with little bag to store their items” also loved the small details like the cloth wipe… I’m only doing airsoft but I got alot of inspiration from this kit. Thank you! It was deep.
Great video thank you for your service!
Gotta love the elite personal in the US military. Showing all the pokey things and talking about dispatching humans to "this pouch is for pens, kids love pens over there" love it!
God Bless you guys! Thank you!
Much respect, stay safe.

Thank you for your knowledge.
You secondary retention strap for your pistol is a great idea. Wasn't able to see much of it. It must be elastic, braided cordage wrapped around the belt. With a smaller loop that goes around the pistol grip.
Outstanding
I have never been in the military, But I done and continue to do my part in other ways. I respect and thank you for what you do. Your knowledge and experience make you more valuable than 100 men. Thank you for helping the rest of us prepare and God Bless you 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.
That calm professionalism that’s very very scary…
I wasn't in the Military myself my Father, Grandfather, Uncles and Brother were. My Father and Grandfather were in battle they didn't speak to us a whole lot about what they seen or did but my dad carried his P-38 on his key chain till he died and a pocket knife with a few tools on it like a hole punch and a couple of blades with a loop to secure it to whatever. Now it seems people want to know what everyone carries whether they're bush crafters or ex-military. For those of us that didn't have to live out of vehicles, tents or sleep under the stars I guess finding out what all of you used the most is a good start for preparing ourselves for a time when we have to "bail out" during a collapse of our society. I can only hope that we will still be surrounded by our Brothers and Sisters still and find that "prepping" was all for nothing but to some of us I think that wanting to know what you went through means more. That we want to know what you went through and grow stronger together. In the hopes that "power to the people" still means something to my children I want them to be more prepared than I am or was to face adversity and triumph against it as our ancestors have so many times. Somehow they rose to the occasion even if they didn't have everything nailed down before hand. Thanks for sharing the tools/kit/gear that you chose to carry being there was more than one of you there's a good chance somebody thought to carry something you didn't. I enjoy the videos nice job!
