I was so lost in this area the first time i played that i remember googling a map for the forbidden woods. One of them made me chuckle: it was just a big circle with the word "SNAKES" witten inside it xD

Don't forget to backtrack through Hemwick and look for that crossing! Could also explore the other path from Vicar Amelia's arena. Or it could be time for revenge against the bag men and Paarl.

(Seriously all I could think of when I was away from the game was, what if there was ANOTHER pig around the corner and I come back and I am dead?!) SPOILERS for video ahead: - In the video I mention I am competitive, that I didn't want to quit the fight etc but seriously it does not matter how many tries a boss takes you! Just wanted to say this as I think its important to just have fun with the game if you're also playing through and some bosses take more or less tries than other people - it just doesn't matter! Skills, weapons, playstyle, luck, things in the moment all affect it and it just doesn't matter 😊 I am still proud of myself though hahaha but so should everyone who plays this, this game is TOUGH! But INCREDIBLE. Anyway just wanted to throw some positivity out there. See you in the next video! 🧡

We could definitely use a pause button. I did think of a tip for you, if you ever need to leave for a moment. You can just exit the game. It will start up on the exact spot you left from with the enemies in the states they where. I don't know if it would work mid-battle and it will NOT work if you're in an (active) boss arena. It's the one think I like about it, I can quite at a moment's notice. Still actual pause button would be better.

Not being able to pause is literally the one thing I HATE about these games! We all feel it with you.

I had one of the piggos glitch into the boss arena when I was running around in loops and accidentally stumbled onto the Shadows. He just stood in the corner and watched! It was so stressful, keeping an eye on three boss enemies PLUS a chonker! As soon as the bosses died his AI kicked back in so I had to fight a pig immediately after. Extremely bizarre.

Your reaction when you won that boss fight was everything, I can’t remember how many boss fights I ended shaking too lmao. That was an incredible fight and honestly all the more memorable for the technical issues

That's a Fromsoft game for you! So few games provide an emotional release like these games do. Some people don't like them because they're hard, but if they weren't hard you would never feel like how she did at the end of this boss. That's the experience people are addicted to. It's soooooooo rewarding!

Shadows of Yharnam was one of those fights i had a lot of trouble with first playthrough, this, Blood-Starved Beast, Vicar Amelia, and a certain 'upper cathedral' fight i all had lots of trouble with

TIP: A thing that I do so I have less farming for items is every time I have extra blood echoes after leveling, I always spend all my extra on blood vials and bullets at the messenger. Kind of eliminates the need to farm them.

I do the same exact thing. This is so necessary especially for new players who find trouble at a boss and need to fight it 15 times... Having 200 blood vials disappears quickly after half a dozen deaths!

After hundreds upon hundreds of hours I've just resorted to using the cum-dungeon to buy vials and bullets. Not that running out is too much of a problem but after the 30th playthrough, getting extra items almost becomes a chore.

@@matthewmartin4604 The cum-dungeon is a chalice dungeon glyph you can create after getting the first chalice (so kill Blood-Starved beast). Just open the chalice and search the glyph "cummmfpk". When entering move out of the starting room and wait a few seconds. You will instantly get 83 000 blood echoes, and this can be repeated by spawning back in (most easily with a bold hunter's mark). So 83 000 echoes every 20 seconds and even more with runes that give more echoes. There is a high level enemy further in the dungeon that dies on its own which is why the whole thing works.

Holy smokes, Emmalition and Amber uploading BB on the same day! So much for my chores.

my favorite part about the second half of the Forbidden Woods: everyone gets absolutely lost in it and turned around so many times they end up losing entire paths of the zone

It took 8 attempts for me to defeat these 3. In the first 7 attempts i tried to kill the fireball guy first. On the 8th i went for the mele fellow first and the boss fight simply got a lot easier. The moment you did viceral on the mele guy i know you are going to defeat this boss in the first attempt. Great job 👏🏼

Shadows of Yharnam solo on your first try on your first From Soft game is seriously impressive. You should be proud!

That. Fight. Was. Incredible. When the video freezed, I immediately got annoyed, cause I was having issues with my pc today, and I thought it had frozen again. But immediately laughed when I heard your explanation. Sorry for laughing at your misery, but you did incredibly well, I've seen people have a hard time with this boss in general, not even with technical issues like you had. You did extremely well, and can be very proud of yourself :)

Not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but you should definitely join the League (by talking to the guy in the forbidden woods) and any other convenants you might come upon. They'll give you a rune you can use on your fourth slot and they have different slight benefits, but you're not locked into any of them and won't affect you negatively! Great episode! That boss fight was absolutely incredible

Your skill level is still so impressive for a first timer, I HATED this area and literally just ran through and you are just cutting through the enemies. You rock!

Just so you're aware, there's a counterhit mechanic in from games that causes you to take significantly more damage during certain animations. The multiplier varies by game, but in bloodborne it's literally 2x damage when attacking, sprinting, and at the end of the roll/dash animation after the s have passed. So generally when you're getting hit and surprised about taking more damage than normal, it's generally because you're getting counterhit, since from games don't really do damage rolls or random crits. Difficult to play around when you're just learning, but just wanted to explain since the games never really teach you about counterhits.

@@mikerzisu9508 it is, and you can take advantage of it too. It's why you sometimes get random crit sounds when swinging your weapon, you just caught an enemy during their counter window. The Leo ring + spears are literally designed to abuse the hell out of it.

As a LoTR lover I was just waiting all episode for you to immediately yell Ring Wraiths/Nazgul once the Shadows appear from the fog. It's soooo "fight on Weathertop" 😄 This game blends so many genres perfectly it's insane. Amazing fight full of craziness. It's also fascinating as a first time player that you've gravitated towards Blades of Mercy, upgrading Skill and mastering viscerals (visceral attack damage actually increases with Skill levels so superb synergy). Usually first timers find comfort in Ludwig's Holy Blade with its bigger range and wide swings. This is very refreshing! Can't wait for the continuation of this journey!!

Hahaha it was an amazing surprise! I think it made me enjoy the fight more, feeling like I was fighting on Weathertop! The atmosphere was perfect, except they were the ones in charge of the fire, not Aragorn 🤣 Yeah I think the speed suits the panic swings I do! I kinda gravitated towards it because of that to be honest, hahaha. It'll be really cool to try something different in a new save in the future. Thank you so much for watching! ☺️

Haha wow you went so hard on that boss fight, this one is super super challenging for lots of players but you 100% earned a one shot there

As much as I’d love to call bullshit on first trying Shadows of Yharnam, and since the recording died midway through she can’t really 100% prove it, but Amber really doesn’t strike me as deceitful. On the contrary, she seems incredibly genuine, and I appreciate the hell out of that. I give her the benefit of the doubt on this one. That is impressive.

33:01 this is maybe the most badass thing I’ve seen in BB, the resolve she has in seeing the snake wad with her points/echoes and she just heals, rips the trick weapon and walks in to get them back. Damn.

I've seen lots of fights against the Shadows of Yharnam, but that was my favourite.

The fact you beat this boss not only on your first try but in spite of the technical issues is fucking epic. This boss is possibly the most stressful because of the 3 enemies and is one I could never do by myself.

Wow. I love that you ran circles to not lose any gameplay and still win on your first go. This playthrough is one of the best I've seen.

Also a big cheers to your partner for the assist! Team work making the dream work! Hope the pizza didn't get too cold.

See, I thought Shadow of Yharnam was gonna give you a lot of trouble -- but not for THAT reason! lol, that was very well done!

I've been watching a couple of first-time Bloodborne players the last weeks and everyone turns left immediately to get to the Bossfight and completely ignore the right path leading to a rune. And because the Forest isn't really a welcoming area, they quickly forget that there was another path and don't backtrack. So it was a pleasant surprise to finally see someone do it :) It's just a small thing, I guess. But adds to the immense fun I'm having watching Amber play this great game :>

You're such a highlight in mine and a lot of other people's days when you upload a video. You are very good at entertaining while playing which is very difficult. I hope you are doing better and hope you keep doing what you are doing because I will keep watching.

That's probably the most unique shadows of yharnam/Nazgul fight I've seen considering all the running around haha, very impressed that it was a first try win too!

I can imagine that for every 'beware of ambush' note you see, the monsters see one of their own that says 'beware of Amber' 19:45 For some reason this reminded me of Monty Python's "How not to be seen" sketch. Every time you see 'coin,' I want to find a way to work in a 'gas coin' joke, but nothing sounds good enough, so I'll just leave this here. 1:01:57 Ugh, and at the worst time, hype wise! Two consecutive viscerals against the sword Shadow, well done! Your partner's a real MVP though. 1:08:40 Let the HYPE return! To defeat the Shadows first try is epic enough, but the recording saga was the cherry on top. All hail the Dev of Desolation!

Maybe a bit late to the party, but I can't belive you oneshot the Shadows. That was bloddy well done. These are one of the most difficult bosses of the game.

loving these videos! always nice to see more people getting into BB, and you have such a charming personality ❤️ couple suggestions: - use your items more! if you see a cluster of enemies (like the snaky bois) chuck a molotov at the crowd before you pick them off! if you're fighting a bunch of beasts, don't hesitate to use a fire paper. most consumables are easily bought/farmed for, so don't hold back - the threaded cane in whip mode is great for cheesing enemies around trees/obstacles - give the saw spear another shot! that's one of my go-to weapons for its versatility. it's the perfect balance between damage and attack speed, has excellent range in spear mode, the serrated edge does bonus damage to beasts in both normal and trick mode (unlike the saw cleaver, which is only serrated in one mode), and the spear mode r2 does thrust damage which is really useful against certain enemies (like the creature you found in Iosefka's clinic). Finally, it scales off both STR/SKL so it's a good match for your build - Read Every. Single. Description. Items, weapons, runes, resources, each piece of clothing in a set. If it's in your inventory, READ ABOUT IT. those descriptions are where like 75% of the plot/backstory/worldbuilding happen

You did great given the technical issues. One amazing thing about this and why the from games are considered a good metaphor/counter for and to depression is that they force you to handle and adapt in stressful and sometimes horrible situations. It’s a beautiful balance when it comes together but it also helps you to see that we as people are capable of more than we think. That was a wonderful show of perseverance! Thank you to your partner for the assist too great team work!!!

One of the craziest boss fights ever. Usually those snakes come out sooner so it balances out.

Your laughter is infectious, you just being you makes these videos so much fun to watch. In regards to Mr Buckethead [Valtr] and his League, if you join his League you will receive a rune that slots into that 4th slot which is blue, there are other groups also that you can join that will also give you runes like that. I think the League is more online/multiplayer focused though so perhaps not the one that would be most helpful to you. Oh and Arienne will give you more blood if you use the vial you received from her so don't be afraid to use it or you might find it to be one of those items you hold onto until you really 'need' and just never end up using. Don't forget to look around the Hunters Dream for the tree stump with the messengers. You are doing amazingly well and should absolutely be proud with how well you are doing in this game, in fact you inspire me to do another playthrough of this game but much better than I did in my first run. You've given me many ideas of how I could improve.

This boss fight is incredible! Shadows of Yharnam can be a PROBLEM, and you handled them so well! And holy crap making it through that recording issue. Very cool!

This was so much fun to watch 😂 I love watching Soulsborne playthroughs to see people overcome challenging bosses, but seeing you overcome challenging technical issues might be even more entertaining

The forbidden woods sucks its so bad it made me considdr quitting the game and i love this game

In any Soulsborne game when you fight a boss and they pause to transition to the next phase, you usually have several seconds of free time to do damage to them.

This was fantastic! Your reaction after the Shadow of Yharnam fight was absolutely priceless! I do hope sometime after you finish Subnautica that you will come back to another From Software game. Elden Ring? Maybe start the Dark Souls journey?

That was such a great episode! That incident during the boss fight, so funny and impressive at the same time! You should definitely be proud of yourself! Great video, as always! Keep 'em coming!

Found this from a YT recommendation and SO glad I did! Finally finished binging all these episodes and it's been a fun adventure. I have platinum'd bloodborne several times over so these videos are giving fresh life to a game I know by heart. Huge props to you for absolutely crushing it so far!!! That was such a fucking good fight! And you sure as hell should be proud of yourself (not only for the bosses, but also for the whole woods area)! I'm so impressed by how you managed the difficulties! Props to your partner for being there for you and for helping you get your headphones in, that was cute.

One tip for the blades of mercy, is that their rolling attack (attack while rolling) does something like 20% extra damage!

I can only imagine how dizzy that made you but you got that sweet euphoria hit from getting the win! A great thing about pumping up skill for the blades is skill is the only stat that increases visceral damage too. This play through is so epic I can’t wait for the next episode.

The dedication to truly 1st try shadows of yharnam was commendable, really can't wait to see you tackle the DLC even if we're a long way form that

Molotovs work well on the giant snakes. Also, sometimes you may shoot enemies on very low health.

That was so good! And your partner coming in with the clutch jolly cooperation so we could watch you crush the vermin! One thing I'd recommend is that at the point you're at in the main story (you're on the path to Byrgenworth as Alfred told you), it's a good time to do all the side paths you can. You have a few optional areas that have opened up. Basically if a random NPC or secret is leading you somewhere then go that way. Definitely make sure you finish up with the Unseen Village area at the very least.

Oh also forgot to say, there's stuff you missed in the woods. There are a few hidden areas and some platforming bits. It's a very confusing place tbh and I always get lost there.

Boss marathon complete, can only imagine how much stress you was under after such a fantastic start, parry skills on point as always, you have natural skill for this game Amber, amazing playthrough, look forward to the next instalment.

Especially under those conditions haha, I would've just used a hunters mark but I commend you for your persistence! Yeah, the 2nd part of the woods always gets me lost, there is a clothes set that you missed but I think you got and cleared everything else though. As others had said, I recommend fighting Paarl now, I'm confident you can beat it now. Also, dont forget about that Cainhurst Summons and the crossing back at Hemwick, you'll in for a real treat in level design and asset design! Cheers!
