    Amber! I noticed when you went back to the dream after beating Amelia the DLC key item didn't appear. You say how much you already love the game, you'll love it even more if you get the DLC and play it when you're ready way later in the game, it'll really add on to the experience! You did so well with Amelia! You caught onto things in the fight very quickly, I’ve not seen many people realize they can use numbing mist on her. She’s definitely a huge skill check for players and you’ve beat all the bosses so far - including her - in relatively few tries, which is a huge triumph! Regarding the personal stuff don’t feel like you have to explain yourself if you don’t want to, life has challenges and your well-being always comes first. @@SymbaLily Although it might have felt naff, the main thing was you kept close/mid-range ('Souls' type bosses have fast & deadly long range attacks or other BS like healing/summoning) and you were dodging better, rolling into the attack, not away from it. My only criticism apart from panic using every item was you never once used your pistol, even if you miss the parry timing for a Visceral and get hit, you still get a half-counter and interrupt their combo letting you get one or two health gain hits (Rally?) BTW there is a spoiler free checklist which really helped me not miss items and events at modo-lv.github.io/bloodborne-checklist

    Every boss in Bloodborne hits different for different players though I think. I beat Vicar Amelia second time when I first played Bloodborne, but Gascoigne took me eight or nine turns. The joy of FromSoftware Bosses is that they're usually well balanced across the game to cater to different playstyles, so one person's hardest boss is another's easiest! Of course, you do then also have the likes of the Witches of Hemwick ;)

Ok, here it is : if you get into the boss arena, then use a Bold Huneter's mark to get out of it, then empty all of your insight at the insight vendor of the Dream (the place with the Doll) then the hard part of the boss won't happen at all. Good luck. It's not so bad of a boss, but this is a trick I love using because of how hilarious I find it.

    You know what, life is kinda like this episode of Bloodborne. Sometimes we face problems like the Witch of Hemwick and we first-try them like a boss. And sometimes we face a Vicar Amelia of a struggle and we fight and fight and fight and we scrape though by the skin of our teeth, but that’s the point, right? Sometimes it’s not pretty, but *we get through it* and that’s all that matters. I’ve already said this on the discord, but I’m sorry things are rough right now. Take care of yourself 🧡 Vicar Amelia is so freaking cool, right? Such a great design. She was a boss I managed to first-try, but 1) I got incredibly lucky at one stage and a hit that should have killed me somehow missed, and 2) I’d been to Hemwick first and my weapon was upgraded. A tip - a great farming spot at this point of the game, if you need blood echoes to buy blood vials, is starting at the witch’s lamp and killing the three hags, the executioner, and the other 2 executioners at the bottom of the slope. You get around 8k echoes, it’s a really short run back to the lamp, and the executioners have a chance to drop blood vials (so does the brick troll through the gate at the bottom if you’re feeling adventurous). So basically you’re getting enough to buy 16 vials per run, plus any extras the enemies drop. Can be useful to build up a store of vials if you’ve got a spare half hour!

    Also gonna say blade of mercy RIPS. It's an amazing weapon. My advice is almost exclusively two hand it. Spamming R1 can be an "infinite" combo, as long as you have stamina to keep it going, and each successive swing scales up in damage. It also has special attacks you can do with R1 (and R2 I think) out of a sprint. Also, L2 can be used to do a retreating slash, which is basically a backstep/dodge and attack in one, making it an excellent move when you're just about to run out of stamina and need to make space to catch your breath. It does arcane and physical damage at the same time, which unfortunately means you can't apply fire paper to it. However, due to the fast, low commitment attacks, beast blood pellets are amazing with it.

  • @albertrhodes2640

    @albertrhodes2640

    2 жыл бұрын

    Also, in case you don't know exactly what beast pellets do... When one is active and you do damage, a bar pops up which fills based on the damage you've done. The speed this bar drains (and maybe fills to?) is attached to the amount of insight you have. The more insight, the faster it drains, so keep insight low for strongest effect. As for what this bar signifies, it's a double edged sword. The more beasthood you have, the more damage you both do and take. If you want to mess with this, I recommend getting 15 in arcane so you can use the old hunter bone. The effect it gives tips that risk/reward in your favor a bit more. :)

    When bosses do the quick, glowy thing (I believe most beast bosses do), they're "healing", but not in a way that recovers HP. In this game, you may have noticed that you can break limbs of bosses, illustrated by when they spurt out a lot of blood. Broken limbs are more difficult for them to use, and they also receive more damage when attacked. So, if you give a boss enough space and time, they mend their limbs.

  • @sambonbon755

    Actually, not a lot of bosses do that thing. Amelia heals, the fire dog does repair members, but every humanoid boss doesn't, and I don't remember more that do. What other bosses heals limbs or themselves besides thoses 2 ?

    @@tomasbriceno2319 So there are lots of bosses like that, but they are all in the optionnal areas of the game ? You don't say What I meant was, the limb damaging thing, it's really not that important to use in the main story line. Sure, it can be useful, but it's really useful in a very few cases. Cursed fire doggy might be the best example, where hitting and destroying limb after limb really makes the difference. But besides that one, you can just as easily kill bosses with limb damaging without damaging limbs intentionnally. Simply fighting them like any other boss will work just as fine. To be clear, I'm not saying it's possible to do it without, I'm saying it's JUST AS HARD to do it with or without the limb damaging strategy, with the exception of CURSED fire doggy.

  • @tomasbriceno2319

    @tomasbriceno2319

    @@sambonbon755 Yes, that's what I meant. Most of beast bosses are in the dungeons. In the campaing you basically have Amelia (the only mandatory), Blood Starved Beast and Dark Beast Paarl. Regarding on whether it is really relevant breaking limbs I'd say you have some point but ... Beating the dark beast paarl without breaking its legs at some point or other is mostly impossible. Let's not talk about the Loran (dungeon) version. With the campaign version you are right that you could do it by chance, not intending it and get away with the feat. But as soon as you do an NG+ or begin raising on the level of the dungeons, you better start doing it right or you'll get stuck.

    Great job with the boss fight! Man it was very tough for me 😂. Vicar Amelia is the "second in command" for Lawrence. The skull is Lawrence's skull (the founder of the healing church) and the vision shows the disagreement of Master Wilhelm and Lawrence in terms of evolution. Lawrence found the old blood in the dungeons and believes it is a way to evolve and Master Wilhelm believes insight is a way of evolution. However the old blood was given to people as punishment from the great ones (aka cosmic gods) for killing queen Yharnam back in the dungeon era

Stay safe and whatever it is I know you get through it because you seem kind and smart and talented and I am sure people care about you and want you to be well.

    Amber, you’re doing great! You’re playing way better than I was when I first started playing bloodborne. I think it took me a solid 15 tries, or more, to get the Amelia by myself. It took me a while to get through all of the bosses on my own. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re picking it up really fast! Keep up the great play-throughs!

    Great stuff - great series and I'm hooked on this channel. I really like that Amber takes time to appreciate the modelling / scenery. In a past life I was also a 3D modeller/animator so I get the geeky side, but sometimes there are just really breathtaking vistas or cool things that other players miss and it's kinda disappointing. Basically, KEEP WATCHING THE SKIES, Amber! 😁

    I don’t know if you know this already but when you get hit, you can recover some health for a short time by hitting an enemy. You can see the red bar staying still for a time when you get hit, that’s how much HP you can recover.

    Your strength is your positivity and lack of complaining/negative attitude when it comes to game or bosses or difficulty, but its natural and not forced cheer 100% of the time, It really makes the videos fun to watch. Keep it up. One tip: Try all the weapons. Most weapons have completely different playstyles and what is good for one might not be good for another player. So play with what feels best to you. No matter what people say, there is no "best weapon" and no "bad" weapon. Play how you want to play. eg: I started by 1st playthrough with Threaded Cane and completed the game with Threaded Cane till the very end. Its gameplay just clicked with me.

    Yay, a new Symbalily Bloodborne video. I've been playing it again for a second time over Christmas and New Year, inspired by your videos, and it's still a brilliant game. I also played the Old Hunters DLC for the first time as well though, I'd definitely recommend playing that at some point. It's Bloodborne turned up to 11! I've completed the game 100% now with all 40 Trophies.

    I love the Amelia fight. I think my Dark Souls experience helped there as I was just rolling through her attacks and hitting her in the bum a lot. Beat her first try (only boss so far I've managed that on) and she never healed. Maybe I got lucky there.

    Well done Amber! You should feel proud for beating Amelia the way you did, sometimes you gotta pull out all the stops to beat a boss, no shame in it! Well done on beating the witch, a very different boss fight than normal. Make sure you go back to that arena and down the tunnel past the lamp for a very special item! Good job on using different weapons, both the holy blade and mercy blades are very solid, the mercy blades dodge attacks are its true strength. Sorry for whatever has been going on, I hope things get better!

Thank you for making these videos since it requires a decent amount of time and effort to do it, so I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. And thank you for encouraging giving tips and making comments... I did a lot of those for this video. See you in the next video and don't be too hard on your self, you're doing an amazing job and both your performance in terms of playing the game and the video are both superb. P.S. Take your time to process things and whatnot, don't feel like you have to rush with telling us if you don't feel up to it. Talking about serious things is hard and experiencing them is even harder.

    It's been a delight to watch you play, not only because you are doing great in combat, but also because you are very observant and excellent at exploring in general. I've watched many blind playthroughts (Bloodborne is my second favorite game ever) and this combination is quite rare. So no need to stress or worry, you got nothing to prove to anyone, i tell you :p Also, hunter's dream is so cozy ^.^ Bloodborne got me through some tough times as well :)

    So as you may have noticed in the Vicar Amelia fight, sometimes you seem to be able to get a "visceral attack state" on her, where she drops to her knees for a bit which would give you an opportunity to visceral attack. This isn't random nor is it linked to specific damage, but it's due to a very cool mechanic that pretty much all "big" boss enemies share, which is breakable limbs c: If you do enough damage to a specific limb, it "breaks" and leaves the boss open for a visceral attack for a bit. That limb also takes more damage after it has "broken". Very useful to be aware of!

  • @leelangdale985

    You did really well in that Amelia fight, going in there with new weapons that you weren't used to and still beating her was impressive. I think that you would probably have beaten her on the second attempt with the additional damage of fire paper too. I hope that you're doing ok and everything gets better for you soon. A channel banner made by you would be cool to see so I really hope that happens one day. Thanks for all the fun and entertainment you brim with every video.
